In the afterlife, Pig can be bacon. Rat, not much at all beyond maybe being cat food.

Ozymandias I met a traveller from an antique landWho said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stoneStand in the desert… Near them, on the sand,Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,Tell that its sculptor well those passions readWhich yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed;And on the pedestal these words appear:“My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!”Nothing beside remains. Round the decayOf that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,The lone and level sands stretch far away.—by Percy Shelley

But by making one person’s day better, he will achieve immortality as that person occasionally remembers that act of kindness, perhaps sharing the story or paying it forward.

I’m a retired school teacher, and that was my daily goal for my students. To make each student’s day a better day and to make them feel like they succeeded in helping others too. The older the students that I was teaching the harder it was. Years later. I had a few of my primary students thank me for that.

I’ll vote for Pig’s approach any day. There’s no “measure of immortality” in being famous, being remembered, even being loved after your death. Either there’s real immortality, or there’s nothing.

Even my dog (therapy dog) strives to make people happier in the hospital where she works. We volunteer there, so no benefit to her other than improving other people’s days, and she loves to go. Dogs are smarter than most people think.

Pig is also trying to make an impact, but his vision is narrow and his mind small, so he doesn’t even think of a broad legacy.
