An old friend who is a defense intelligence analyst has been keeping me posted (as much as the law allows) as to how shocked his whole profession is at how pathetic the Russian army is turning out to be; they knew it was much weaker than the image it tries to project, but they had no idea it was in this sorry shape. He also says ol’ Vlad has made a major misstep; he was trying to hold off NATO expansion, but has only succeeded in assuring NATO will remain relevant for at least another 30 years.
