   Yes, I know what he wrote. And my response remains the same. The FBI involvement was due to threats made against board members, not merely because parents complained about the books. That’s a critically important detail that changes the picture dramatically. No wonder it gets omitted by those who wish to misrepresent why law enforcement was involved.

   I never said a Master’s degree makes you a “Master;” I said, or rather, wrote, that the meaning behind “Master’s degree” was to indicate mastery of a subject. It had absolutely nothing to do with dominion over another person, as someone was apparently trying to imply.

   I agree the value of any college education has declined over the years, especially when a significant part of the undergraduate experience consists of remedial education because someone got promoted through high school without mastering the skills one typically expects of a high school grad. As for higher degrees, I have Master’s in both Biology and Business Administration, but I wouldn’t claim “mastery” of either topic, both being so broad that mastery is rather unachievable. One might argue then that the degree could be renamed (not entirely sure why undergrad degrees are “Bachelors” and I don’t feel like looking it up right now); I’m indifferent on that matter.

   Try reading with the goal of understanding what was written instead of with the goal of getting your panties in a wad. Then maybe you’ll have something constructive to add (doubtful, but one can hope).

   Assuming one earns a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, while the earning of efforts may not be standard they do have to meet certain minimum requirements. Are you attempting to discredit the legitimacy of advanced degrees, a tactic commonly believed by the right wing (whether or not you agree that such a “wing” exists at all)?

   And citation needed for the claims about prosecution by FBI. Because according to the Google, this is simply not true (what we also call a LIE). The FBI was ordered, in 2021, to work with local governments to help address a spike in threats made against school board members.
