Remember, this strip is set in Philadelphia (where I was born and still live). We have a public transit system here. It’s called SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority). It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than in the days I used it to commute to middle and high school, not to mention every job I’ve ever had. When I was in school, SEPTA sold discounted student tokens. Nowadays, it sells discounted student key cards. It is highly unlikely that any of the students in this strip don’t have SEPTA key cards. Yes, public transit is not as safe as the school bus, but it runs on a much longer schedule.
And yet, the late, great, Jon Pertwee, the Third Doctor, was never shy about admitting that he, and his version of The Doctor were one and the same.A very classy guy.
Indeed! And why on Earth (or Gallifrey, for that matter), did they hire Peter Davison, a very gifted physical comic, to do practically nothing physical as The Doctor?
I think 8-Ball means “currants”, but I get the idea.
