I have a bureau that’s only for my underwear. Would that be considered a chest of drawers?

Um, people? Even though Elvis is interfering with your sense of drama, he is making sense, here! (Dignified sense, of course!)

I think Elvis has a point here. Ora Zella has created her own isolation tank. Minus the water. And minus the isolation it would seem.

I believe the six-letter word for a chest of drawers was given in the 2/26 strip: “boo-roo”.

Hey! My predictions from Monday are doing pretty well! We are still in B) Ora Zella is TOTALLY FINE AND DOES NOT NEED HELP. Really.

Although I thought “Really” would be a lot more sarcastic, and I’m still holding out for D) everyone getting stuck.

I CONTEST that Ora Zella can do crosswords. She does not have that kind of attention span. I can, however, see her making a series of increasingly dangerous and improbable paper airplanes with the pages.

Magazines and books? How much room is there behind that 6-letter-word-for-a-chest-of-drawers? Does Ora Zella also have a cat bed and a scratching post down there, too?

So glad to see one of my beloved Robber Mice.

And anyone who loves crosswords is a friend of mine.

Speaking of Alice on the bureau (who is absolutely adorable, I might add) I went upstairs yesterday to find the bag for the Pack and Play that I’m giving to Thing 1 so she has it if granddaughter, who should be named Chaos, stays over there since she’d need someplace for Chaos to sleep safely. I have been noticing for the past week or so that Loaner Cat, who gets fed up there so the dog doesn’t get to it, has been eating all of her food but is constantly hungry and is thinner than normal. I opened the closet door and at first wondered why it looked like she’d thrown up in there since she has no opposable thumbs and can’t open that door, then it dawned on me. There must have been Six Cups Of Her Food on the floor in piles!!!! This morning, there’s a very, very fat little mouse sitting in a live trap on my washing machine and I’ll let it go on the way to PT, but there’s another trap up there that’s set. While I know one little mouse can make a huge mess, I’m thinking at the size of this one, there’s more. And Loaner Cat enjoyed a very big, mouse free dinner last night down here with us. Poor thing.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the Nile Senior Center

Iggy: So let’s get a group together and explore the oPyramid and find the lost auditorium.

Iron Glove: Sounds like a plan! Let’s go!

Wally: Wait, Iron Glove. Let’s decide who we should ask.

Iggy: I vote for Violet-Ifa. She can read the hieroglyphs on the walls.

Wally: And Bea knows about the history of the place.

Iggy: I think we should ask Obadiah Opossum along as well.

Ahwil-Fixit: You’re off to a good start, guys. But don’t forget the most important thing.

    Iron Glove: What’s that?

Awhil-Fixit: You need to pay a visit to Thomios!

Elvis is asking the right question. Maybe she’s just doing a Garbo and vants to be alone…although admittedly not so alone that nobody can answer her crossword questions.

Well to answer the question it could be Bureau or it could be Lowboy, depending on the letters you already have.

Now to the more important question, is Ora Zella really trapped or is this just a ploy for attention? Also how in the world did Ora Zella fall behind the bureau in the first place?

Unlike say a coffee table, a bureau is normally pushed tight against the wall as having it in the middle of the room serves no purpose nor are bureau’s finished on both sides, leaving an unfinished and unflattering back exposed for others to see.

It seems in this case that “the woman” is no Martha Stewart when it comes to interior design or furniture placement, thus allowing for these ridiculous Catastrophes to occur on a regular basis. Besides, if you just wait until dinner time, you will find that Ora Zella isn’t as trapped as it may seem. After all a hungry, grumbly tummy can be a great motivator.

Depends on whether or not Ora Zella can actually leave whenever she wants, which hasn’t yet been demonstrated if she can or not. For all we know, she might actually be trapped, she’s just chosen not to stress out about it and instead make the most of it.

You know, as Ora Zella typically does.

Twelve years ago today a huge, somewhat scruffy white cat with a rakish scar across his nose walked into our life and changed it forever. Albert A. Cat touched many people in his time with us, some who never even met him.

This is the second Albert Day without our handsome boy. I miss him every day.

If you wish to honor our distinguished gentleman, be kind today. Tell the people and creatures you love that you do. Enjoy your food. Take a nap with a friend. Donate to a cat rescue or shelter or MSPCA Angell Hospital. Treat yourself to the traditional Albert cakes (vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting and shredded coconut on top).

    But mostly be kind.

The Gigi recently went to spend a week or so with the Really Great Uncle (her youngest child). His boss, Ginger, would stretch herself out on the dining-room table as my mom did the crossword puzzle each morning, rolling on her back for stomach skritches, and after a couple of days would take up her position on the table as soon as she saw my mom pick up the newspaper.
