   I don’t mind holding babies (having had a few of my own), but it’s 2024 and I still mask in public. So I will politely decline to hold or even touch someone else’s baby, lest I accidentally pass on germs I don’t know I have.

   I understand the chain mail worn by the characters in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was knitted from ordinary gray yarn. Looks reasonably authentic, but it wouldn’t stop a sword worth a cough darn.

   I guess I just found out right now that Mark Fidrych died. He was great entertainment as a pitcher. Pity it took so long for anyone to ever diagnose the problem with his shoulder!

   And the way he died! Poor guy! Something like Anton Yelchin. (And no, I’m not over his death either.)

   I don’t recall any baby dolls. My Barbies (mostly Skippers, along with a Tammy) went on adventures along with a Sister Bertrille doll who was quickly reimaged as a tomboy schoolkid. Also I had bunches of Liddle Kiddle dolls; my mom said I almost always had one in my fist with its head sticking out. They too went on adventures.

    I’m afraid the only thing that came to my mind was “Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.”
