   Forgive me for not updating everyone timely. The Woman came home from the hospital on Friday evening. Because she was out of work for more than three days, however, her employer is requiring her to be released back to work by her PCP, who can’t see her until Thursday. Which is probably just as well, since she is still having some discomfort, so she’s catching up on the sleep she wasn’t able to get in the hospital … partly because she had nurses coming in every couple of hours, and partly because I didn’t have my CPAP with me. (Even her nurses apparently commented on my snoring.)

   Hi everyone. Just a quick update. The Woman seems to be doing better. We are hopeful that she will be able to sleep in her own bed tomorrow night. She is, among other things, going through Girl Withdrawal … The Girl is highly susceptible to ear infections so her parents don’t want to bring her to the hospital. But they are talking on the phone as I type this. :-)

   The Woman is getting what would normally be a dream vacation: a couple of days off from work while she gets to lie in bed all day. Unfortunately it’s a hospital bed as she appears to have a partial small bowel obstruction. This just happened late yesterday so I don’t have a lot of information as yet but will keep you posted.

   Yep. I’m not looking forward to when it’s my cat’s time to cross the RB. He’s 13 and has been through a lot with us. He also has the patience of Job where my granddaughter is concerned.

   @A Common ’tater: we lost a member of the Breaking Cat News community a couple of years ago. The post from his daughter had nearly 200 likes and 130+ comments (and those were just the comments that people posted as a reply in the thread).

   How appropriate that I’ve decided to buy The Girl the OZ shirt about “I’m experiencing the consequences of my actions” because she acts just like this when she is hungry.

   Services for P’s wife (I’ve since learned her name, M) will be on May 13. I will be going, but unfortunately, The Woman will not be able to as The Girl is still in school and someone of course needs to be here when she gets home.
