I was permanently suspended on Twitter because I made a sarcastic comment about it being an ironic punishment for people pouring oil on paintings to be tar and feathered. Musk restored my account and others. I was never a violent or harassing poster on twitter, I used my real name.
X is alive and well. Many of the strips created here would be banned under those twitter rules by individuals that wanted to put their thumb on the thoughts and opinions of others.
The bird is dead, thank God for freedom of speech. Long live X.
Actually, that last one was the most inevitable. Twitter burned through all of its IPO money, angel investor money, random investor money and still did not find a way to make a profit.
The thing is that when you offer twice the market value of a company, no matter how many times you declare “I was just kidding” the board of directors is going to take you seriously if they think you have the financial means to pull it off.
At any rate, musk bought twitter specifically to destroy it, so he got his wish in the end.
The Passenger Pigeon; Viciously hunted for food during the 19th century. Last known bird died in 1912. It is estimated that there were 3 billion to 5 billion passenger pigeons at the time Europeans discovered America. All gone.
Stephan was being too nice here. This isn’t even mentioning the rampant spam bots plaguing the site. In fact, spam bot accounts say it’s EASIER for them to use the site now (This is why you keep seeing all those “[censored] in bio” posts)

That last one didn’t happen. Twitter was moribund under the old censorship regime, it’s alive again thanks to Elon Musk.
But I understand Stephan has to butter his bread somehow.
