When Frank tells Luann to do “schoolwork”, it makes me feel like he still thinks she’s 13, and not an adult College Student.

So what will tomorrow’s new arc be about? I’m guessing something with Tiffany.

I guess we’re two days in a row with Luann being written more like a small child than a grown adult. A college student should be self-motivated rather than needing a parent to hassle them into doing their schoolwork.

Luann’s in for a rude awakening is she ever manages to move out on her own (a prospect looking less likely all the time, given how she keeps getting less mature and competent each year.) After being coddled by her parents for so long, she never knows what to do when someone holds her accountable for something (like when we saw her flailing when caught breaking the rules at her daycare job.) Heck, we’re so used to her being coddled that a lot of readers can’t handle her being held accountable for her actions, and instead get upset at the characters who dared to call her out.

Or maybe today’s strip is just a flashback to her at 15, so her immaturity is more justified.

Ugh. I work for the newspaper. On an assembly line. Inserting those fliers, ads, coupons, and others into the circulations. Boring, tedious, and hard on the back, legs, and feet. So, I can tell you, newspapers are alive and well, even if nobody reads them anymore.

I still LOVE my daily newspaper that is delivered on my porch every morning. Unfortunately someday it will get phased out.

Luann looks sweet in frame 3. They’re a good family. But it’s time for Lu to grow some wings.

You can get a lot more than 12 pages of comics on the Internet. Besides sites like this one, you also have all the “news” sites, especially during an election year.

I would have thought Greg would have put his “greg 3-3” somewhere on the newspaper.

My partner told me that he trusts scientific journals more than books.

Maybe you should just skip the articles and go straight for the funnies.

Just go with the reputable news sources that were around long before the internet and online social media, when their reputations actually meant something to them. That leaves FOX out.

I love these moments between Luann and Frank. You can really see how much they love each other, especially how much Luann adores her father. However, a newspaper with 12 pages of comics?? I would buy it without a second thought! It would be the best newspaper ever!

Sometimes it seems a lot of folks take the 3-4 panels here way too literally. Luann lives at home. A LOT of CC students do the same to save money since most students who go to a CC go to the one closest to where they live.

When a college student lives at home, it suddenly doesn’t mean the parent-offspring dynamic goes away…. and the house suddenly becomes a “roommate” scenario for all involved.

Seriously, let us say that Luann decides to build a “Privacy Hut” in the living room to copulate with someone (such as Steph has/had with Kip). Are Frank and Nancy supposed to just say “Ok roomie, where is the sign-up sheet???”

Luann is perhaps 20. She lives at home. She goes to the local CC. She leads a somewhat quiet life currently. NOTHING odd nor abnormal here. She has plenty of time to “party on down” or “live it up” or “shack up” in the future if she so chooses. Not everyone busts out of their parent’s door on their 18th birthday and loudly proclaims, “See ya later, losers! I’m off to live wild and free and will start partying my d@mn socks off every fr*fgin’ day, all day, everyday!!!”

This comic shows a VARIETY of fairly realistic, but also kind hearted and comedic interactions between a RANGE of characters in every day life.

Newspaper “journalist” are a bunch of leftist propagandist.

The “professional Journalists” of today are mere narrative machines. They adhere to the approved talking points of the left and refuse to cover the stories that hurt that narrative. They are a danger to humanity.

How can you trust your pop, Luann.

Because HE controls the purse strings.

The quality of our newspaper here has gone down drastically over the years. I’m surprised it remains in business.

I prefer the paper because the stories are concise and get to the point. Internet stories just drag on and on and never get to the point.

In fact, newspapers were among the first to deploy computers in their operations. Composing pages and sending them to print were automated. The AP used networking to distribute stories to newspapers all over, and eventually to us via the WorldWide Web.

That newspaper can’t be right. There are never 12 pages of comics anymore.

Greg Evans is doing the common thing about how comics sell newspapers. Notice how in the first panel the newspaper says “Comics Sec 2 Pages 5 to 17” and then panel two says “Don’t miss our 12 pages of Comics” and the last panel says “Circulation UP Thanks To 12 Pages of Comics!”. But pages 5 to 17 would be 13 pages, not 12. Oops!

Cute daddy daughter joking around today, but is Luann saying her father is as unreliable as the internet? Frank shouldn’t have to scold his college student daughter to study – it’s written like she’s in junior high.

The joke’s on him, newspapers are owned by vulture capitalists, and those reporters are being replaced by AI bots with stock photo pictures to make people believe they’re real humans.

I would subscribe to a newspaper with 12 pages of comics. It beats the real world like news.

As far as next week, I’m not sure there will be a new arc. I hope there is; I think this one is ready for a rest, to be revisited in the future. And that’s what I’d like to see in the next arc—a revisit to the quad denizens. How are they (esp. Tiff and Bets) coping with Stef? Does Kip still show any interest in Tiffany, or vice versa? Is Stef aware of it?

Nice try Luann. Now do your school work.

The Sunday comics, coupons, and business ads kept me as a subscriber for many years. When businesses pulled the print ads for online and comics became available online too, I went digital. I saw the print version of the Sunday paper recently. It was smaller than the Monday paper once was. It was sad.

She’s just proving Frank right in his decision to not waste the money sending her to a university.

DARNIT!!! THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL FORUM. KEEP THE POLITICS OFF IT PLEASE, PARTICULARLY DURING THE PRESIDENTIAL YEAR!!! And on the strip, Lu is not juvenile kidding around with her dad, it’s a beautiful expression of familial love. Everything does not have to be mocking all the time, JEEZ.

I do not know of ANY real printed newspapers who do not also offer online access.

I’m old school, I still like reading a physical paper. The local paper practically forces you to go digital, and charges an arm and a leg.

Horoscope? Yeah, well…..

I stopped trusting newspapers/journalists when I personally witnessed a scenario play out that the local paper put a really bad spin on the group. They waited for the sun to set at an angle that it was in the eyes of protesters who stood smiling while holding a banner for hours. When the sun got in their eyes, making them squint, the newspaper headline took that picture, the article called them hateful.

Frank is very naive. I bet Frank’s part of the generation of gullibles who thought Walter Cronkite told them the unfiltered truth.

Luann isn’t the only one who reads horoscopes.

I guess he doesn’t realize that those newspapers he trusts also have an online edition.

My Sunday paper has the Luann strip complete with the title panel that GoComics omits. Today, that panel features a newsboy apparently shouting “WUXTRA!” and showing a newspaper titled “The Paper, On Paper!” and its headline is a “screamer” that says “LUANN! by GREG EVANS".

That has to be a mistake. Don’t they mean “twelve inches of comics”.

More people should take that attitude about the internet.Excluding us GO COMICS correspondents, of course
