Philo may not be a murderer, but in his quest to “depose” Jacob, he chose to print material that may have provided support for the “coerced-suicide” group.
We know he isn’t be executed for murder, but sedition. And the paper simply says: “crimes against the state”. So…in its vagueness, it is actually accurate. ☺
Big Walt to the rescue. Just make sure you grab Freeman……without him the Rats are stopped. Love and doing the right thing are not the same thing Portia.
“If he wasn’t the killer they wouldn’t be hanging him.” Oh Portia, I have feeling you’re not going to want to hear the truth when it finally gets revealed.
I understand Portia being upset as far as the harassing phone calls, her encounter with the wolves, her struggle to lose weight overnight, having to move out of her apartment, and even finding out her brother had been driven to suicide and eaten.
That is a lot to be put on one plate.
So when she heard that a pig’s head was found in Foxworthy’s icebox, that was more than her plate could carry. She cracked. And that crack has created a rift in her relationship with Walter. She feels justice is finally being served, while Walter knows that justice is not being served at all. Even Heather had a trial, even though it was clear that the jury was on her side from the very beginning. Even if Foxworthy was to get a trial, would he really get a fair one?
Freeman said something about having population of Endtown “lobotomized”, to ensure their safety. Perhaps having this public execution would, at the very least, traumatize the public to his liking.

An old theme of this comic was people questioning what humanity currently is, given current events I’d have to say nobody is human anymore

If you love me.” Weak, undermining words. “Closure”. Another one.

“If he wasn’t the killer, Walt, they wouldn’t be hanging him.” Yeah, Portia, just keep telling yourself that…

A chink in Walt ’s armor: He just caved on what he considered a matter of principle.
“If you love me…” – words used by someone who is using you…
Some closure once you find out you’re wrong…
On the other hand, this plot device gets Walt involved and might possibly change the outcome…

he’s not being hung for murder, its for sedition, I’m sure the article says that but Portia never read past the headline.

That’s a LOT of newspaper for such a small community. How thick is the section? and do they recycle the newsprint?

Damn it Portia, that’s really bloody low. And I have a bad feeling about all the pigs being gathered in one place…
