“That’s no ordinary rabbit! That’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!Look, that rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer!”

That’s some amazing research! I don’t usually read all the “sub-comments” and would have normally missed it. Maybe better to repost as a new comment? Nice work!

Very cool connection! Wonderful catch. It puts a lot more meaning into Duffy’s glance at the charm on the dock.

If the Grex effect stays in place, then “original” humans will be gone whenever the last one dies out. Terrance says this on 12/21/2020. The Topsiders are slowly being ruined by being confined to their suits, demonstrated when Dr. Amesworth cut open her mask on 10/20/2020 and we got a brief look at her face. Anyone born into the Grex will be an anthro. If they happen to be a born a typhoid mary, then their children are still likely to be anthros. What we saw in the Unity colony was a colony of single anthro types—reptilians. That was possible because they culled all non-reptilians by candling their eggs to see what they would be. Then they…made choices. There is another population of a single type of anthros (if that’s what they are), and I’ve always wondered about their origin. I was more curious after a bit of their true function was stated on 4/3/2018.

You mean “Terrance, the Optomistic Peacock”? That’s sarcasm, by the way. He hasn’t said much since he was punched unconcious by one of his co-workers in the 12/01/2021 strip. That was just before their roundabout journey to get to this beach. I can’t recall him saying much of anything, either. He sure talked a lot when he was their tour guide back at the Project. Maybe he was way out of his comfort zone.

I feel I must admit, that although I recognized your quote, the first one that came to mind from that source was “Make me a sergeant, and charge the booze!”. I had to search to find one that matched the tone of your quote. :-)

“When Man entered the Atomic Age, he opened the door into a new world. What we’ll eventually find in that new world, nobody can predict.”

Someone in here coined the name “Wacky”, which I like to use because it better reflects the merging of Wally and Cracky. :-)

Dr. Amesworth felt that “true humans” were gone for good, unless they could manage something to undo the Grex change with the Eden Project. Terrance seems like a technician supervisor or engineer supervisor (not an administrator) to me. Aware of the Eden project, but handling the processes and equipment involved. In his mind (after all, he’s a Topsider—even still wearing his suit) the only “true humans” are those that have not been affected at all by the Grex Phenomenon. If the Eden project is dead, then there is no hope to preserve “true humans” (or bring them back). Grexes, Typhoid Marys, and newborns still exist, but they aren’t “true humans” to Terrance. Terrance talks about this reversal on 02/13/2021. On 11/14/2021 we get instructions for what could happen if the power to the Eden Project is cut (which is the case, since the reactors have blown). Wacky Cat(the “key”) and all of these folks are on the beach in Eden (I think), and probably where they need to be for their presence to help guide Eden back “along an interreality conduit”. Maybe someone can refresh my memory-but I don’t think the original cause for the Grex blending has ever been mentioned. The Eden Project was created to undo the phenomenon, so it can’t be the cause.
