Now come on guys. Even Star Trek could hack into our technology all the time that they went back in time (particularly the excellent 2-part Voyager episodes). That alien was probably just trolling one of those Ancient Aliens guys, not communicating back home.

Maybe they are lost way out here in the sparse galactic arm of what we call the Milky Way. Found a world that is inhabited, but primitive—alien.
