Why are people wanting to go to war so bad, are they willing to go themself?

Israel and Iran have both shown the other that they can bite – honor is served, and now they can stand down a bit.

I have to say I am somewhat surprised that no one is pointing out that the Iranian attack was not unprovoked, but retaliation for an attack on their consulate in Syria. If that had been an attack on a US consulate, the response would have been very similar. The Iranians are not the good guys here, but Israel is throwing gas on the fire.

Back in the day, politics stopped “at the water’s edge”. War in the ME is in no one’s interest, and neither does gratuitously deriding Biden’s self-discipline in this matter.

Iran is a barely emerging third rate country with a weak military and minimal only ability to project power outside its own border.

Why are so many people afraid of Iran? Not because of anything Iran itself can do. No.

The ONLY power Iran MIGHT have is its ability to spark a larger regional confrontation.

And no, they don’t even have THAT power if we simply ignore them. They’re like the neighbors barky little rat dog. If you stay out their yard they can’t do anything to you.

So, another extremist propaganda comic this morning pushing for escalation of war in the Middle East. Like advocating for igniting a self fulfilling fake bible prophecy is a good plan

Israel hit their embassy and started this. Republicans support Putin, Putin supports Iran, Iran supports Hamas.

Republicans give aid and comfort to the enemies of the USA.

The Iran Treaty was working until EA’s hero Trump took the U.S. out of the treaty just because President Obama helped to put it in place.

Eisenhower’s CIA staged a coup to overthrow the ELECTED prime minister of Iran because he wanted to retain the oil profits for his country rather than going to oil companies.

Regan interfered with talks between Iran and President Carter because he didn’t want an “October surprise”; politics over getting the situation resolved. Then Reagan had Iran-Contra so he could interfere with Central America and support dictators there.

It won’t bother me a bit if Israel nukes Iran back to the Stone Age

I remember in the mid fifties playing with my little sister in the upper parking lot of the lead refinery my father worked at, just a few steps above our company house, when a hydrophobic dog came out of nowhere and ran toward my sister. I reflexively kick the dog as hard as I could and it ran under a car. Luckily, there was a call-in worker just getting out of his car and saw what happened. He drew out a large Bowie knife, laid down on his side by the car reached in a stabbed the poor devil to death. That act of heroism is not likely to happen in this day and age I’m afraid.

Why did Israel bomb the Iranian consulate is Syria?

What military objective did it serve? What were the goals of the strike? Why now?

It did serve one function. To draw Iranian retaliation so Netanyahu can claim to be a victim of Iranian aggression and look to the US to bail it out of its military adventure
