In 1944, ANTIFAscists fought Nazis and Fascists with bullets on foreign soil on the other sides of two oceans.
Eighty years later, ANTIFAscists must fight Nazis and Fascists with ballots in our own country and in defense of our own capitol that they tried to overthrow.
I’m not averse to lifelong commitments. I’ve made them to my wife, to education, and to leaving this place better than I found it. But that last one can really suck the spirit out of you when you’re up against so many who seem hell-bent on doing the reverse.
The GQP would rather join with evil instead of fighting it, as long as Putin keeps those rubles flowing to their campaign PAC’s. Heck, they would probably return Alaska to its original owner, Russia, for the right price.
My Battle of the Bulge veteran and depression era Democrat father was appalled that he had to live through eight years of Ronald Reagan. I can’t imagine what this p.o.s. would be doing to him.
The fascists never stop. There is always someone, today it’s the magats, that want to have absolute power and authority over everyone else while they themselves are exempt from any rules
@fjb it was the republican tax cuts that blew up the deficit and caused the debt to soar. The Democrats, again, are the ones trying to fix the republican mess. Biden has cut the deficit by $1 trillion, significantly slowing the growth of the debt.
Amazing and incomprehensible that any U.S. citizen could vote for a man who denigrates soldiers who were P.O.W.s or killed in action, disrespects Gold Star families, and chose to not participate in a memorial ceremony at a European cemetery honoring the dead from WWI (John Kelley had to explain the causes and nations involved in the war to Insurrectionist$464M).
I like to think that my cousin Francis, who was killed during the WW2 Battle of the Bulge, was one of the original Antifa, under such leaders as Dwight Eisenhower and George Patton. I also like to think I’m carrying on the family tradition by voting against the modern day Fascists.
My uncle was part of the ANTIFA forces who stormed the beaches on D-Day. He died at the Battle of the Bulge still fighting the Fascists. The fact that we’re still fighting the fascists today on our own soil is a horrible insult to the Greatest Generation. Vote in November. Vote for democracy.
So the Party the prosecute political rivals, the party which officials try to keep leading candidates off the ballot, the party hire tons of lawyers to keep others to get on the ballots, the party that calls every election illegitimate unless they win… thats the party who’s going to save democracy? Riiiiight
A town in Oklahoma is holding an election that a group of citizens forced a recall election for, a Nazi, white supremest, fascist, councilman. I have no information that he is also a MAGA.

Same thing as 2007 crash – the generation that saw the Republican Great Depression as young adults were dying out and lessons were forgotten.

It IS a lifetime commitment. Because those who love power will do what they can to get and keep it. At any cost to you.

It is a good fight, a righteous fight, a fight for our ideals, values, and traditions, and it is our shame that such a fight need be waged.

Welcome to your wake-up call, citizens.

Voting isn’t strong enough anymore, and we are gonna end up seeing a combination of 1939-45 and 1861-64 at the rate and direction we are going
