    Good morning™, all!

Annie was finally happy, for the first time in her life, when “Daddy” Warbucks came home and met her for the first time. Sorry for the spoilers I wrote yesterday which kind of predicted what would happen today. If you’ve read the story from the 1920s, you already knew what was happening today.

For what seems like weeks now, this story arc has been all about how Annie came to be adopted by Daddy Warbucks, with no mention of the crime Tracy is supposed to be investigating.

Good morning™, Brand New (Sugar) Daddies !

And they lived happily ever after. Chuck’s Annie renderings have an old time flavor. :-)

This gave me the rather creepy disco earworm called “Daddy”.

So continuity has once again been thrown out the window? Hadn’t Honeymoon and Annie reached their mid teens a few years ago?

So the Warbucks who likes Annie is still around, and the one who didn’t is gone. Hmm…

Annie didn’t have her red dress then, and she was about five or six the way Grey drew her back then. By the 40s, Grey was drawing Annie as if she were 11 or 12. Pepperidge Farm Remembers!

Some company whose name I forget put out the ANNIE strips from the mid 1920’s until about 1931,so I’m pretty well acquainted with “The early Years”.

From the circus to life in a wheelchair to The Silo Family(kind farmers) to doing The Robinson Crusoe bit and coming down with tropical fever.

Annie hasn’t led a dull life.

I never read LOA or saw any of the movies but I always had the impression that Warbux was as nasty as the orphanage woman. Is Warbux paying Mike to rewrite his persona to be a lovable rich man so he can either run for office or be remembered like the robber baron, Rockefeller, who handed out dimes to kids in an effort to appear to be remembered as a kindly, old, grampa?

1-LOA: I’d never see a bald person before. It freaked me out. DT off panel: I know, right? Daddy-O looks like a peeled boiled egg, don’t he? LOA:* Or a cueball!

2-…Anyway, he used to pick me up and throw me around. He said I reminded him of his hated Raggedy Ann Doll that his Mom bought him as a child and how SHE always wanted a girl and how as a result he plucked every hair from his head pause for deep breath before continuing so that he would never be confused for a girl in spite of the way his Mom dressed him. DT: Yeah…yawn…interesting. Hey! Whatever happened to Boris the Monkey? LOA: Shouldn’t you be more concerned about my real parents? DT: Nah. That’s another story.

    READERS OF DT: NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Somewhere last year, this story line was hinted at. I must remind myself the focus is on Annie regardless of what happened to her parents and Boris-what’s-his-name. They are both “history” and ancient history at that.

Someone can tell Vitamin; he can bring down the curtain on this act. Is it intermission yet? I need to go to the concession stand.
