Sheesh…. how long does it take for Americans to decide that we are gonna have to vote in our own best interests…not for wealth backed despots. The orange slime stacked the courts to protect himself and his crime cartel family. The MAGAts are and have been working for years to shut down voter rights and make it legal for themselves to profit from insider trading and foreign payments and bribes….the male, white, Anglo-Saxon Christian Taliban has been working for years for a return to slavery for all people of color and all women regardless of color… Corporations have been buying politicos to advance their business profits by making greedflation something to be considered justifiable to rationalize their gargantuan salaries and their humongous golden parachutes. It’s about time we start voting these corrupted pieces of capital sh## out of office, out of government, take away their power to continue to rip us off. Sheesh….ummm….sorry…end of rant…let me put away my soap box.

Because he has wealth, or the perception of wealth, justice can be delayed indefinitely. Been like that forever. What is so sad is his playing the victim card and the MAGA bleating its repetition.

It looks like his only punishment will be if there is reincarnation after death, and he has to come back as a girl of color in one of the worst places to be a female in our world. Some current possibilities would be Niger, or Afghanistan, or the Democratic Republic of Congo.

US criminal law is tightly written for the average American and loosely written for the rich and famous, but the legal system has decided that Trump alone is above the law. Trump has always known this and now we do too, since the judges mostly seem to be in his pocket, and the entire legal system doesn’t seem concerned that Trump has already proven that the mantras of “rule of law,” “No one is above the law” and “Justice delayed is justice denied” are hollow when it comes to Trump.

I would like to ask trump supporters why they support him.

Do they believe he is innocent of all the crimes he is accused of.

But, the problem is, they can’t answer honestly, because they know how supporting trump looks, so, instead, they deflect, and they fall back on whataboutism, and get back to claiming to support trump.

But, if any trump supporter/defender can explain, I’d genuinely like to know why.

Everyone knew that Trump’s strategy was going to be one of delay. It was up to the Courts, the arbiters of justice in our country, to deny him this obvious ploy and move these cases along. The courts have failed us. Whether through idiocy, like Fani Willis, or inbred political prejudice, like the SCOTUS, the justice system is not acting in the country’s best interest.

Therefore, it is up to us, the voters, to ensure that Trump never again sees the inside of the Oval Office.

I don’t credibly believe polls at this point, but IPSOS now has Biden leading Trump by two points, and several other polls are a statistical tie.

Imagine for a moment, if Biden had picked Harris for AG instead of Vice President. There’s a high probability that she would have started investigation on day two of Biden taking office and TFG would now be in prison by now. Sadly Merrick Garland was just never up to the job as AG. At this point in the game there’s almost no chance of TFG ever going to trial and being found guilty of any of his felonies.

T would appeal a parking ticket to SCOTUS if he could get away with it. Delay, delay, delay, and delay again. That’s what he uses his lawyer’s for. That’s all there good for. Run out the clock until he’s gone. What’s left over will be somebody elses problem.

The fact he’s having to pay millions upon millions of dollars for damages is still something. Real justice would be him behind bars, no doubt, but a small win is still a win. Let’s just keep that narcissistic orange sociopath away from the White House for now. Gotta choose our battles.

We’ve seen what it means to be “too big to fail.” And now, as Charlie Pierce put it, we’re seeing what it means to be “too crooked to jail.” Once the ball got rolling (after 2 or 3 years of festering) Nixon was disposed of in a few days. Trump is FAR worse than Nixon could have been, and this Trumpian legal “nicety” BS has dragged on for EIGHT years! Oh Lord, how our system of jurisprudence and adjudication has fallen from effective action to utter impotence!
