Rowing exercises a larger set of muscles than “plain running”.

Very timely comic strip for me. Tomorrow, we’re moving the rowing machine from a protected outdoor location to indoors. We’re getting too old to row outside in the cold (or heat) anymore.

The Erg. Isn’t that a lake in Michigan?

Could someone explain the Kansas references for me?

Well, the storm did hit. We’ve gotten a good six to seven inches so far and it’s still coming down this morning and the wind is terrible. I’m on the edge of mid-Michigan, not sure what the Detroit area got. Good thing that rowing machine is getting moved. She’d be hard pressed to find it today!

Inquisitive little girl: “Are you going to have to run on the treadmill?”

Subliminal reference to “Dust in the Wind” when it’s snowing like a banshee outside?

Yeah-nothing to see in most of Kansas so 120 it to Colorado or Nebraska.

I remember driving across Iowa when my kids were small, they were complaining about how boring the drive was. Suddenly I pointed out the window and said, “Look!!” They went, “What? What??!!” I said, “Corn !!” A half hour later “OH MY GOD. . . . More Corn.” They threw comic books at me.

Just trying to avoid and erg-onomic disaster.

Don’t try that 120 mph thing in Kansas if your car has Colorado licnse plates.

Iowa is worse.

Interstate highways were/are built to be boring.Near cities they are built to kill.
