One tiny, little problem with this. Trump was neither charged nor convicted of Insurrection, so expect the Supreme Court to quickly knock this down. BTW – way to incite people to come to Trumps side dumbocrats. The more he is persecuted the more support he gets. You’re actually helping him, and he is already winning in the polls, especially in the 7 swing states, so thank you.

People know what’s happening. And few like it. Those cheering these decisions are far left loons with hate America leanings.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! What’s funny is that so many of the judges who’ve annoyed Trump were appointed by Republicans. Also, the activist judges — those who are actually breaking the law to help Trump — are all Republicans.

But as usual with Republicans, every accusation is an admission.

Let’s talk about the Office of the President.

According to the Constitution the requirements, the qualifications needed to be Vice-President of the United States are the same as to be President. Anything that disqualifies ONE, also disqualifies the other.

There are those who claim that the 14th Amendment has never been applied to the President, and that is true. At least, not yet.

However, it HAS been applied to the Vice President.

The 14th Vice President of the United States was a Kentucky Democrat by the name of John C. Breckinridge. He was a popular man and was nominated by Southern Democrats as their candidate for the presidency in 1861. Of course we know how that worked out.

However, what some might not know is that Breckinridge joined the insurrection. He commanded troops that fought and killed American Soldiers. By the end of the war former Vice-President John Breckinridge was serving as the Confederate Sec. of War.

After the war Breckinridge was a hunted man. He fled south, then into Cuba. He spent the next several years touring Europe before traveling to Niagara, Canada. He remained there, unable to return to the United States for fear of being held accountable for his crimes. After President Johnson declared amnesty for all former Confederates.

Breckinridge was asked, and refused to return to politics. He knew that under the 14th Amendment he would need a 2/3rd’s vote to be eligible for office.

Disgraced former Vice President John C. Breckinridge is the precedent which excludes disgraced former President Donald J. Trump from holding federal office under the 14th Amendment.

Bok (and SKelley) needs to go back to 8th grade and retake the social studies class he clearly did not master.

Mr. Kelly, aren’t the “Democrat Judges” just exercising their Sacred Second Amendment Rights???

The ban is for the republican primary ballot not the general election.

Steve doesn’t like icky bits in the Constitution requiring well regulated militias and prohibiting aid and comfort for insurrectionists.

I would REALLY, REALLY like to have a moderate from either side make it to the general election. Seems like only the extremists are making it through the primaries.

First, not a Trump supporter. Most importantly, being accused of violating the 14th to keep one off the ballot is scary. Conviction not necessary. By next election everyone will be accused.

The Supreme Court will decide a poorly written section of the 14th amendment designed to apply to those that 1) swore an oath to the US., 2) then renounced it and swore an oath of allegiance to another country, 3) then declared war on the U.S., does not apply here. Which is just as well, since Trump needs to lose bigly next Nov to silence most of the Trumpettes, although the diehards will maintain it was another stolen election.

Trump’s fate as a candidate rests in the hands of nine Supreme Court justices. Luke Broadwater, Congressional Reporter at The New York Times, believes states are going to fall in line should the high court subscribe to the 4 to 3 ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court to disqualify the 45th president from appearing on the 2024 presidential primary ballot for his actions from Jan. 6, 2021, where it’s alleged he incited a riot when a his supporters laid siege on the U.S. Capital to halt the certification of the election results.

The Democrats would be beyond stupid to try to keep Trump off the ballot. The best thing Trump could do for the Republicans is to drop dead, but most of the MAGAts would write him in anyway.Realistically, the Democrats don’t have a golden ticket for the 2024 campaign. I was worried about Biden’s age four years ago and voted for him mostly because there was no “none of the above”. I have been pleasantly surprised that he has done a really good job.

Trump is great for the Democrats simply because the is poison for the Republicans. Trump won’t drop out as long as he needs to try to confuse his legal problems and keep the money coming in, so he is quite likely to be the Republican nominee, simply because he has enough backing in the party that the sane members can’t stop him.

If they do manage to stop him, he will run as a third party candidate and a pretty large percentage of the Republicans will vote for him. People who identify as Republicans are between 33% and 42% of voters, depending on the year and currently way down. It is very difficult with those numbers for the RNC to win a national election. If they lose the Trump voters, the Democrats will be able to elect pretty much anyone they want.

Conversely, if Trump is the Republican nominee, a pretty significant portion of their party will not want to vote for a Democrat, but will also have some reservations about voting for a treasonous, sexually assaulting, dishonest sleazebag, so they will just not turn out to vote, again handing the White House to the Democrats, along with a bunch of down ticket races riding coattails.

Trump could have just not instigated an insurrection.

The US Constitution clearly states in the 14th amendment Article 3 he’s disqualified. Of course the partisan US Supreme Court that killed Roe V Wade could say otherwise and come up with some twisted logic to force states to keep him on their ballots. So much for leaving it to the states

Well here ya go lying again Mr. Kelley. The judges in Colorado were all Republicans. I’d te4ll ya to go put that in your pipe and smoke it, but it is obvious you and your rocky mountain high are already bosom buddies.

Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot charged their opponents with crimes and had them removed from the ballots too. Democrats are just doing what they do. Trying to establish a one party system and implement “Democracy” (aka Mob Rule).
