Who has 8 loads of anything that needs ironing these days? I don’t have anything at all to iron.

I would guess that he’s depicted as totally clueless for a reason??? What’s going on in Bill Amend’s household? Maybe this is a little groveling to make amends?

He rates a little extra starch in his seven loads out of the eight.

I’m going through my closet now, and throwing out (actually, donating to a thrift store) anything that’s 100% cotton, no matter how good it looks.

I’ve never understood the problem with laundry. I put it in a machine and it washes it. I put it in another machine and it drys it. Take it out and it takes a few minutes to fold and put away. Where is the work?

I never had to ask my wife how her day went. She go on a tirade about nearly every employee that worked for her. That’s why I never quit working my job and went to work for her. I figured if I worked for her, I’d be another gd employee and she’d keep it to herself until her head blew off her neck. I’m considerate that way! ;-p

A reporter asked baseball great Harmon Killebrew if he had hobbies. Killebrew responded “Just washing dishes, I guess.”

When I was a child we only had a 2-tub wringer washer and no dryer. After the HOA told my mom she couldn’t have a clothesline, everything had to be ironed just to get it dry. I did my share of the work. Who knows, penny-pinching Andy may have the same system.

When I was a kid, Monday was laundry day…wringer washer and a clothesline. When you brought the laundry in off the line, you sprinkled the stuff that needed ironing, and rolled it up. Tuesday was ironing day…you took the damp clothes and ironed it dry…no spray or steam irons! In the winter, the clothes would freeze on the line, and if it was raining, you hauled them down to a laundromat ane put them in a big dryer.

Each of their children are able to wash and dry and fold their own laundry. So make them do it. When my children say “I don’t have any clean underwear” or “I don’t have any pants” I typically will answer with, well that sounds like a problem for you. You should do your laundry in a timely manner.

They also know how to do basic cooking in the microwave and toaster oven. It’s amazing what happens when you teach your children to be independent and self sufficient.
