PROgressives are “woke” — i.e., awake, alert and ready.

Those who ridicule being awake, alert and ready apparently prefer to be in a drunken stupor of hate-infused intoxication and a world of conspiratorial hallucinations and (their term) “alternative facts,” rather than the real world-reality of being awake, alert and ready.

Or maybe they just can’t spell “E-N-L-I-G-H-T-E-N-E-D.”

The QOP revels in being vicious, bigoted, and mendacious.

Whenever you hear that you know you’re talking to someone who believes in things one should never be proud of believing…since they denigrate so many of the things we were taught to be proud of.

The GOP and conservatives have been this way for decades. Simply go back and watch reruns of shows like All in the Family to see how they were mocked then. They are a fear-filled, anti-intelligence group of people.

Racist DeSantis has made it clear that he intends to follow in the footsteps of George Wallace Jr’s ideals, but stay within the law to keep the feds away.

How would a coma patient who just woke up know the state of the world?

The Republican Party some time ago needed to tell their followers that going back to the 50s or 60s is not an option, and that those of us who were around for those eras know that things were really NOT better than they are now. Just a different set of problems.

Heffalump Dictionary defines “Woke” as : “Acknowledging the fact that change REALLY HAS HAPPENED in the last 175 years, and that America and the world are NOT still existing in the time WE like, the 1850s!”

When those under Republican influence rail so fervently against being Woke, normal people can only ask, “can they really be that hateful and stupid”?

“Woke” is the word they use because they are frustrated that they can’t openly use racial or sexual comments.

Brain damaged republicans will stay unwoke with their lack of empathy, how else can they vote for racists and fascists who want to destroy democracy?

Woke, schmoke. It only is a term for anything they disagree with.

What’s this supposed to be? Who is the guy waking up?

A man accused of assaulting a police officer in the 2021 Capitol riot has been sent to prison.

Viewers identified James McGrew, 40, after noticing his giant stomach tattoo in riot footage.

The footage revealed a giant tattoo on his stomach that said “KING JAMES.”

He was sentenced to 78 months in prison for assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers.

All hail the Maga king.

And being is not a bad thing.

I see much more ‘black on white’ racism than the opposite. Woke advocates are like the preachy judgmental aunt all the kids avoided. Luckovich is woke, a fact that may or not be regarded as a good thing. I am in the ‘not’ category, because I can live my live without advice from the sanctimonious woke. I think joke is a better description than woke.

Like I always say, if you’re “anti-woke” you just want to stay asleep….

As far as I can tell, “woke” is the current name for what used to be called “political correctness.” My off-hand definition of PC, going back to the sixties in Berkeley, is something like, “actions that are ostensibly in support of generally-accepted good goals (equality, justice, &c), but which go beyond reason.” Just where the dividing line is, has to be a matter of opinion.

Some things that used to be called PC by critics were, as the defenders of those acts, just common sensitivity or courtesy. Some examples of PC were beyond reason, and I can reel off lots of examples.

Similarly, some things that are called “woke,” like the idea that slavery is bad, are actually just plain history. Some things, like the canard about schools’ providing kitty litter for cat-identified kids, are just nonsense.
