Good Dad work here!!! Katy is a good sport, she knows her parents can’t really afford a pony, but, optimism & hope spring eternal in children. And, she’s smart enough to forgive them & love them anyhow.

Katy is better off getting a verbal contract with Adam about the ponies…less chance of his famous writer’s block.

Some poor horse is out there alone in the straw dreaming about next year. For sure that’s when his new girl will come to play.

He’d rather rely on his swiss cheese memory, “I don’t remember saying that”.

Put her to work in a barn mucking out the stables for a weekend and then see if she still wants a pony. Let her do a summer internship with a farrier and ask her at the end. If she is willing to do the work, then think about it. A horse is a thing that processes your money into mature. Horse owner.

Take her to a farm where the horses were just feed a bunch of too green grass and let her clean out the stables. Let her know that’s a daily chore. She’ll change her mind.

When my granddaughter wanted a horse, while still in middle school, she got a part time job at a riding stable. By the time she was in high school she was an instructor for “pee wee” riding students. She saved her money and bought her own horse.

I see a My Little Pony play set in the future. Ten ponies with real polyplastic manes and tails. The winged ponies have polyplastic feathers!.

My husband is always thinking he will get some really wonderful gift – for Christmas, for his birthday, for our anniversary.

Since he buys his own gift and I don’t get to go out without him – where does he expect this gift to come from?
