Entirely possible. Then it could do us a favor and bring something back.

It actually brought social media to Mars. Seriously. There go all hopes for intelligent life on Mars.

It’s a losing proposition. The drone weighs 62% less on Mars, but the blades have 99% less atmosphere to bite into. I’m surprised they got it to fly at all.

It’s not enough that Earth loses. The Solar System must also lose!

Hey folks, this Mars thing is fake news – it’s all being filmed by the deep state in a pizza parlor basement to distract us from electrical problems in Texas.

Maybe the “Ancient Aliens” guys have it right. What if “they” visited us years and years ago? And if so, as “Ancient Astronaut Theorists” believe, what if “they” took a hand in developing and molding terrestrial evolution and civilization? If so, then is it possible that “they” closely followed the results? If that is true, then it very likely that “they”, with “their” vast intelligence and advanced technology, have redlined our Solar System, and the third planet from the sun in particular, and notated it as a “Do NOT Go There! Seriously! We Really Mean This!” zone.

It’s called engineering, and engineers are surprisingly good at it. This first effort won’t transport much, if any, payload, but future versions will, and flying around Mars, landing here and there, picking up samples and running tests will enable vastly more study of Mars than can be gathered by the amazingly capable surface vehicles. Besides that, it is a damn fun toy to play with.

Proving, apparently, that there IS death on Mars after all!

Funny as this meme is. NASA was very careful to send a disinfected clean machine to Mars. Why? you may ask. The answer is simple, because they are trying to find life, past or present on the planet, and if they sent a contaminated machine to Mars it would make any discoveries suspect. Much as the location was chosen as a place they feel it’s likely to find signs of previous life, it’s also far away from previous and other countries explorations to avoid previous contamination.
