Confused socialized, social, and societal with socialism again, huh? Sad, hugely sad. Bet you don’t understand the words oligarchy and megalomaniac either. The word impeachment ought to become pretty clear shortly though and the meanings of high crimes and misdemeanors as well.

And when pollsters put key concepts & ideals from the Declaration and Constitution in modern language and ask people what they think, about half of us say it’s way too radical.

About half of us don’t vote in major elections — far less in local elections.

About half of us think the president should be impeached and removed from office.

About half of us couldn’t find Germany on an unlabeled map to save our mother’s life.

The obvious conclusion to all this is… ugh – I have no idea.

Let’s take a nationwide poll on Nov. 3rd, 2020 and sort this all out.

There are tyrants on the left and on the right that will take freedom and liberty away from the population given the chance to indulge their lust for power. A thoughtful hybrid of the best attribute of all ideologies that would serve all of We the People in a constitutional democratic republic would be optimal. Extremes only make sense to extremists. Cooperation, compromise, and consensus make things work correctly.

Unlike the GOP, the crazies are not yet in charge of the Democratic Party. It really is unfortunate the media lavishes so much attention on the Bolshies, when the establishment Democrats still run the show and get things done.

Now draw the GOP elephant evolving a portrait of Hitler as it continues to become the AAP (All Aryan Party formerly known as the GOP). After all, Orange Blossom has actually used paraphrases from Mein Kampf to the great cheers of his followers.

Calling out political movements that the Republicans cannot oppose on their merits, republicans have for 200 years resorted to name calling. The Labor Movement, Civil Rights, Child Labor, Woman’s Sufferage, Voter’s Rights, Social Security and Universal Medical Coverage have all been met with screams of “socialism, communism, niheilism” by the republicans.

Breen, how anout you take the time to study LENINISM.

Not socialism, Leninism. Leninism is not socialism.

    Go ahead, we’ll wait.

Now that you’re smarter, compare Lenin’s tricks to Trump’s. Trump, and his White House staff, are masters of Leninism. Throw in a good dash of Stalinism, for good measure.

Steverino, with Trump, and Lenin, it is not what you do, but how you do it.

Those danged socialists done slipped old age pensions, old age medical care, a nationwide highway system, and lands preserving unique ecosystems into the U.S. when people weren’t looking. They fund education, police departments, urban renewal, etc. They support equality for all peoples regardless of skin color, religion, sexual preference. They welcome immigrants to make the U.S. stronger.

And those who believe that have bought into the Republican lies. The truth is that the nation and the GOP have moved so far right that John Birch Society stands which were once anathema to the party are now mainstream. So people think that Bernie Sanders – who is, if anything, a classic FDR New Deal Democrat little different from FDR, Truman, or LBJ – is some kind of wild-eyed radical. He isn’t.

At this point it’s de rigueur for someone to say that the Democrats haven’t really moved anywhere, the Publicans have moved so far to the right that centrist ideas (like universal health care—which has been around since Teddy Roosevelt) are now framed as radical.

The trouble with that claim is that “conservatives” aren’t really “right”, and certainly aren’t conservative. They’re more like intellectual luddites with an acute case of solipsism, and a thick layer of plain old greed. And hypocrisy—the new motto for the USA is “It’s OK if a Republican does it”.

As an Independent, I feel that both parties have gone too far in their respective directions, although the Right has far out-distanced the Left. And, I would rather live in a far-Left society that in an autocratic Wealthy-Elite Nazi far-Right one. It seems to me that the current Democratic candidates are tripping over one another making expensive promises that scare many centrists. And, under Obama (who I voted for twice) legitimate changes were shoved down the throats of true conservatives too much and too quickly in too short a time. ANY society requires monitoring and tweaking; change is inevitable. WE, as citizens of a democratic republic, must decide on which changes to adopt, must make up our minds after reading, investigating and THINKING about the consequences/benefits before we let our elected reps know what we want. How many of us practice the previous sentence? I Email my Senators Warren and Markey about a half dozen times a year, in civil tongue, what my opinions are. Do you?

History fail. Lenin’s party(a minority) claimed to be a majority and labeled its opposition(a majority) as the minority. The Bolsheviks then claimed democratic victory and proceeded to set up one for the most repressive regimes since—oooh, the Tsars. So, %50 of whom. Polls only reflect the opinions of those polled. Trump and company(clearly a minority of the popular vote in 2016) appear to be relabeling recent history. Many people being designated as socialist really only want the US government to be fair to all citizens, regardless of wealth.

And half DON’T believe the Democratic party has moved too far to the left. Looks like yet another one who thinks that promoting social programs is equal to having a socialist government. Never mind that the RADICAL ideas being promoted by the Democrats are considered normal operation for just about all the rest of the first world nations. Even CONSERVATIVE parties in those nations aren’t going to promote getting rid of universal health care and go with a USA style health system.
