Aruagh! I can’t unsee this! Thank goodness you didn’t put him on the toilet. I know you wanted to, Bors. No doubt you spent some time considering it. Thank you for your restraint.
Trump depicted sitting against a backdrop of greasy cheeseburgers. He tried to negotiate more comb-over and a smaller belly, but artistic integrity would not allow it. Trump wanted to be depicted as regal and god-like, and like really big, beautiful flourishes. “I have the best politics so I should look like Napoleon” Trump demanded. He was looking for a portrait that let everyone know he has the power and the privilege. The juxtaposition of contemporary white elite culture with the centuries-old posture and wallpaper-like background makes for a bold painting. The choice is indicative of Trump’s background. He is charting his path on Earth. The different coke cans woven into the cheeseburgers include some from a New York bottling plant, some from Las Vegas and Florida. There’s even some from Russia, symbolic of Trump’s election. Trump also pointed out his personal connection to the artist – “Do you think Bors is going to the Miss Universe Pageant? If so, will he become my new best friend?”
I like Obama (not unreservedly, but of course in contrast to What Came After he might as well have been the Messiah we on the Left have been accused of treating him as), but from an Art standpoint his portrait is remarkable (not necessarily from an absolute standpoint, but from the standpoint of Presidential Portraits it’s remarkable). Michelle’s portrait, not so much (I like the painting, but it’s a better portrayal of the dress than of the woman wearing it).
What a terribly sad image that is. I see a lonely old man, desperately trying to hold on to an image of strength and masculinity, all the while being terribly aware of his failure to achieve it, now desperately railing against the world through twitter.
The signs are there, the comb over, the tan, the younger wife, the desperation to be referred to as a billionaire even if the reference is negative and the bank balance false.

Has the Trump admin stopped beating its wife yet?
I’ll bet this portrait was painted over a picture of the Kremlin.

Quite the clear contrast with the other official presidential portrait recently shown… Nicely done.

What a repulsive sub-human. I’d say he’s a Neanderthal, but I don’t want to insult the Neanderthals!

Sadly, there’s nothing surreal about this portrayal – it’s a fine example of the Realism genre.

Excellent work, but…shouldn’t there be some “secret sperm” for Hannity to lose a fresh bag of his marbles over?
