Yeah, they’ll boost that debt into the farthest reaches of outer space, then whine about funding Social Security, Medicare, Medicade, the VA, essential workers, anyone that isn’t rich, white and male. Watch, that is the whole plan. MAGA my horse’s backside.

The tax cut bill is a bigger driver of the debt than the money to be spent on infrastructure that is WAY overdue. The money for the Pentagon is NOT needed – stop building tanks that go directly to storage, don’t make any more missiles that cost $800K each and stop ordering jets that are beyond current technology. Develop a plan to get out of the Middle East and stop making things worse by doing things like the Jerusalem move.

Hey Varvel…where’s your vaunted fiscal responsibility? You know if you were more truthful with your cartooning you might see the irony. Or maybe not.

Market is falling because math challenged Republicans want to borrow money to give rich people tax breaks. Not a sustainable policy.

“Rush on the GOP budget: I just don’t worry much about the national debt anymore”

You don’t say. Any comment, Rand Paul?

When the Democrats are in power, Republicans appear to be the conservative party. But when Republicans are in power, it seems there is no conservative party. — Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) February 8, 2018

It does seem that way, now that you mention it. And so I give you the dean of “conservative” talk radio, responding to a caller this afternoon who’s concerned that the new GOP budget will add $500 billion in spending.

Combine that with the reduction in federal revenue from the new GOP tax cuts and we’re looking at a projected deficit of, no typo, $1.1 trillion in 2019.

Two years ago the annual deficit was $439 billion. We’re going even further into debt and at a more rapid pace. That would have been grounds for across-the-board primary threats on the right just five years ago.

Now, though? Over to you, Rush:

And then I got to realizing that I think one of the reasons so many Republicans are signing on to this is a silly reason, but in their world it makes sense. We’ve got, if this happens, a two-year budget deal, right? You know what that means?

They don’t have to worry about being blamed for a government shutdown for two years! That alone is worth signing it, is it not? They’re probably gonna throw a party tonight because they’re not gonna be blamed for a government shutdown…

(The GOP demonstrates once again, that they don’t mean a single thing they say. They are just adding to the debt to avoid getting blamed.)

Deficit spending always blossoms under republican administrations. Yet their base continues spouting lies that republicans are the party of fiscal restraint and democrats are all for tax and spend. (which tax and spend is the proper way to finance the government, not the republican borrow and spend. Even Reagan had to raise taxes eleven times as his spending increased and income did not. Reagan shifted taxes to the middle class away from the wealthy who could better afford paying and who use most of the governments services.

Maybe if billionaires who have enough money to shoot cars into space had a reasonable tax rate, we could do something about the Federal Debt. Or we could keep attaching thrusters on the vehicle so the rich can have a little more.

Clinton had four balanced budgets, Bush left us with a trillion dollar annual deficit, Obama cut that in half, now we are back up to trillion dollar annual deficits. Anyone see a trend?

Raising taxes on the rich and cutting the military would balance the budget.
