Trump is meeting with Putin even as we speak. If Trump comes across as only nicey nice, as he will, Putin will win. This is a foregone conclusion about Trump, like so many other things.

As a parent of a student at SCAD, I can tell you that the art world has changed a lot. My daughter is an Animation student, like many others, she is mostly interested in only digital type of art. 2D animation is still done the old-fashioned way, with sketch after sketch after sketch. She is not interested in 3D animation, which is all about coding. They do use digital sketch tablets, but it isn’t like software is doing the drawing, they are doing all the work with their own blood, sweat and tears. She says there are few folks around who are really into classical oil painting anymore, though she has had many classes in fundamental drawing and painting before they got into the animation part. It isn’t as fun as a lot of folks think it will be. It is a ton of work. I didn’t know she would get carpal tunnel syndrome so quickly, even as a teenager. 75% of the students at her school drop out as freshmen, a pretty high percentage. It seems that expectations don’t match up with reality somehow.

I wonder if Trudeau wants to rewrite the follow-up to this on having JJ and Mike have to file a lawsuit to finish getting paid…

I remember these strips from when they first ran. And I remember how Trump’s attempts to put Doonesbury down (with insults just like those he tweets today) would turn up as blurbs on the cover of the book collection. He hasn’t changed- but so many people seem to have missed it.

In the last two strips Trump ask JJ to paint in Michelangelo style and she is doing that as you see in panel #4 : her position is the same the Italian artist had during the Cappella Sistina painting and complaints are the same the pope did to him

This is actually one of my favourite story arcs. As an artist, I did enjoy seeing JJ at work on this. It was actually… inspiring.
