    That should have been “three shades of RED.” Red is the color associated with anger. Green is associated with envy/jealousy.

    Note how Schroeder’s fist clenches harder and harder. Chuck might have got his block knocked off if there was a 4th shade of green. Hove the curtains at Casa Schroeder, hate a Sunday strip on Friday.

    This joke must have been very different to read in its original B&W. Then, only the final panel would reveal the punchline with Schroeder’s face. Here, the final panel only tells us what we’ve already seen.
