@naturally_easy……..Jim Unger, R.I.P., who passed away recently had been writing this cartoon for many years so in answer to your question: a) This would then obviously be a repeat from his earlier work and b) even if it were a recent work then it’s all indicative rather than technically/time correct. Jim had the ability see just that little deeper than you or I and then left it up to us to ‘get it’.

If they have earphones – earbuds, whatever – I’ll take it! I haven’t watched TV in years; I love my husband dearly, but he’s a sci-fi channel surfer, and he drives me NUTS.

Now … on the technicality side, that TV wouldn’t have worked, as the tubes would have been touching, and thus the ‘high voltage’ line probably as well.IT WOULD work today, as you can just go down to the Man Cave, and leave the woman alone upstairs, in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant.......ok, I’m going to hide now. L (BTW I don’t really believe women should be barefoot … or pregnant. Not all the time. They deserve time out of the house, and should be allowed to work if they want.)

To Augusdad. Yes they did. It was a two screen TV made back years ago. It was made I think by RCA. You had to special request it from the factory. You could watch two different channels. My dad (rest his soul) loved both baseball and football. He had one game on one side and one on the other. He was Phillies fan. They were only black and whitethat he requested. Color was the new technology but not every one broadcasted in color. I think at the time there was only one broadcasting in color and you had to live near enough to reach on the roof antenna. I think it was in New York. We at the time lived in Mechanicsburg Penn. Working on the Harrisburg International Airport.

Yes. I go back that far. I remember walking on the future runways of Dulles International. They were survey sticks in the ground. I know how they did the curve roof of the terminal. Risky job never attempted till then. Suspend cables between the supports. Build a plywood form to follow the cables. Add concrete. Carefully remove once cured. And voila. It worked. That runway was designed for future aircraft. 747. The Concord. All then were under design so the runway was built to meet future requirement. The ends are two foot deep rebar steel built to take the hit from those big airplanes on contact. I also remember Howdy Doody. Claribell the clown. Later to become my favorite. Captain Kangaroo. Great days those. Practiced duck and cover on a regular basis. Civil Defense drills. You see a flash, duck and cover. I grew up later to “Oh well, there goes the neighborhood.” Now just chilling.

Also great for 2P Goldeneye 64 and you don’t want your little brother to watch your screen.
