Students have once again shown that the youth of our nation actually cares about human rights. And once again, they become the targets of those officials who haven’t the moral backbone to stand with them for justice and compassion.
Speaking of right-wing donors, follow the money…. Bibi’s largest donor Miriam Adelson, Trump’s largest donor Miriam Adelson…. coincidence…..?
In response to the October 7th, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel, Miriam Adelson published an Op-Ed in Forbes Israel, entitled “Dead to Us”. Referring to wave of Pro-Palestinian protests occurring across various western cities and countries, Adelson stated that “Those ghastly gatherings of radical Muslim and Black Lives Matter activists, ultra-progressives and career agitators were nothing short of street parties. These people are not our critics. They are our enemies, the ideological enablers in the West of those who would go to any length to eradicate us from the Middle East. And, as such, they should be dead to us”. WIKI.
We’ve pumped more than enough aid into Gaza, but Hamas runs the place and decided to starve the citizens. That’s the crisis. Calling for the genocide of Jews will not solve it.
Now overnight we’re seeing reports of violent clashes and arrests at places like UCLA and Columbia. There have been antisemitic symbols like Swastikas. These protests are counterproductive and need to stop now
It is important to remember that there are a lot of Jewish students protesting Israel’s actions in Gaza. At the same time, there are also Jewish students, I’m sorry to say, advocating for the total elimination of all Palestinians in Gaza. A Jewish woman at Harvard told my son they won’t be finished in Gaza till all the Palestinians are eliminated. And yes, her word was “eliminated.”
I lived through and participated in the ‘60s. I know where the Oakland Induction Center was and went there. One thing that still confuses me is the response to demonstrations. Mass arrests have an amazingly consistent record of affecting public opinion negatively and not deterring demonstrations. It’s like the War on Drugs. It makes conservatives feel good and does nothing to solve anything. Santayana lives.

You’ve summarized the local and national news, my lady. This is why I prefer NHK-World’s hourly news. They don’t sensationalize anything.
Oh, time for Trails To Oishii Tokyo. Great show, along with A Cat’s Eye View Of Japan.

Good to see someone else noticing the distraction from the reason for the protests.

Once again, no mention of the Israeli hostages.

I live right near Columbia, and yes, people were just sitting on the grass and carrying signs UNTIL the cops got involved.

Hamas had better turn over their hostages and end the crises for Gazans.

…if Hamas gives back…
…or frees all of the hostages…
…what happens next?…
