I got a call from a woman yesterday asking for Michael. I told her she had the wrong number where upon she demanded to know to whom she was talking. I told her I was not Michael and politely declined to give her my name being wary of a scam.
She then asked, what Michael’s number was. I told her I knew a couple of Michaels but I wouldn’t give her their numbers. She became angry and said a couple of snotty things and hung up. I feel sorry for Michael if she ever tracks him down.
Reminds me of collection agencies. When I moved into my first apartment, I was constantly getting phone calls from bill collectors asking for someone I’ve never heard of at some other address. I would tell them to go away, but they refused until I threatened legal action against them.
One, after telling them that he doesn’t have this phone number anymore, actually asked me if I had he current number. I responded with something like “Sorry, Verizon didn’t give me the personal history of everybody who previously had this number, maybe you can ask them.”
a neighbor who lives a few doors away recently showed up with some materials for us that a gal from town hall had hand delivered. the neighbor said her son had “mistakenly” accepted the envelopes. stopping by town hall the other day, my wife happened to run into the delivery gal, who told my wife that she had clearly asked, is this the gopher gofer residence? (she’d unfortunately consulted google map, which gives the wrong coordinates for our address). the kid is either extremely stupid (a very real possibility) or extremely interested in getting to meet the foreigner living in the neighborhood… ☺

She’s not spreading confusion door-to-door as much as she’s spreading the conviction she’s lost it.
Assuming she ever had it.

Broomie better watch out. With all the guns out there, she could get shot for that.
