A person had a Doberman Pincher and had on a ten foot chain. A cat would come into the yard just out of reach of the dog and it would drive the dog ballistic. The owner felt the dog was getting bigger so he added a few more feet. I’ll let your imagination do the rest.
Well every story needs a bad character and Scrappy is the bad one in this. The character you love to hate. For that comment he needs a spanking but I’ve never spanked a squirrel before. See another obnoxious squirrel on the Ziggy comic for today.
So we are going for a Foghorn Leghorn and dog story line. Which one has the “southern” accent and is there going to be an ACME sales duck character introduced?
Our Rotties loathed squirrels at any time and any place. The English Mastiff didn’t care about squirrels in the yard unless it tried to drink out of his water bowl.
I thought their backyard was fenced in. Why does he need to be on a leash? I like this comic strip but it doesn’t always make sense. Half of the time he’s loose in the yard, the other half he’s leashed. He’s in the house all day (often alone where he destroys things) and then put outside at night in the cold. If he can be inside, let him be inside. Let him loose or get rid of the fence.
Imagine if Scrappy, using a Harrison Ford voice impression, said, “Get off my plane!” just before Buckles experienced the throes of his leash. It’d be cruel and epic!
We had a big, old, maple tree in out front yard. The tree had a crook in the base. One day, the neighbor’s hunter-killer cat caught a squirrel in that crook. What ensued was hilarious. It looked like a cartoon animal fight. Then, all of a sudden, the cat ran one way, and the squirrel ran the other. After that, the cat never went after squirrels again.
For all those times Foghorn Leghorn tormented Dog, Dog did get back at that loudmouthed rooster. Buckles, watch old Foghorn Leghorn cartoons and you might get some ideas from Dog.

As do I. Another abrasive comics character.

For all the haters, I think Buckles eventually kinda makes friends with Scrappy.
