Aren’t you tired of that joke?

  2. about 8 hours ago on Arlo and Janis

I just suggested one reason above, replying to @flagmichael.

One possible explanation for the empty plastic bottle on the tire is to check if it’s still there before you start your car to leave. If not, you might have been hit too hard by someone parked behind or in front of you when they pulled out. I’m not that paranoid but it’s a possibility.

30 amazing new products that are selling out fast! (And the one illustrated looks really interesting, but what is it?)

    You’ll NEVER find out!

  5. about 9 hours ago on Arlo and Janis

But the real question is, why do superheroes wear their underwear over their unitards? Is it to keep them clean?

  6. about 9 hours ago on Arlo and Janis

And they said that yesterday too!

  7. about 11 hours ago on Andy Capp

It doesn’t seem like work when it’s fun and you’re good at it.

  8. about 11 hours ago on Andy Capp

    Here are some statistics:

The Andy Capp archives contains 3863 cartoons drawn by Reg Smythe, and of those I found 73 whose dialogue contains pigeon or pigeons between 1957 and 1970. Reg continued drawing Andy Capp until he died in 1998

There may be more using different words to refer to them, or drawn by successors to Reg, but it would appear that the racing pigeons have been gone for quite a while.

  9. about 13 hours ago on Andy Capp

My theory is that they disappeared as the creators of the strip evolved. Reg Smythe made them a bigger part of Andy’s life, but maybe the newer artists don’t think they’re as relevant anymore. Just my guess.

Remember when Tinker Toys and Erector Sets were the building toys? No, I didn’t think so.
