I still marvel at nature. Like a few days ago when I was sitting outside enjoying the sounds of nature and I spotted a turkey walking on my driveway. Nothing unusual about that, but it then decided it needed a better vantage point and flew about 125 feet up to a tree branch about 30 – 35 feet above the ground.

I marvel at human biology. How can I eat an 8 oz bag of junk food and then have the scale show that I am one pound heavier the next day?

My toddler son was certain that he could watch “Bernie” (Bert and Ernie) any time he wanted, that they were inside the TV and all I had to do was turn it on.

“Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.”

What is so fascinating about Saltine crackers? Easy shape to make. Now Bugles are much harder to make, they are more fascinating.

And I marvel at the lady in my GPS sitting on the truck dashboard that says, " turn left at the next stop sign and proceed 1.6 miles to Luckney road." How can she see that from the dash of my truck?

I know it saves JJ some work, but the only difference between these four panels is the slight zoom in for panel 3 and the change in Argo’s face and arm gesture. Everything else is identical—even Argo’s hair is the same in panel 3, just zoomed in a bit. He manages to turn his head without turning his hair—pretty good trick!

The main result is that Janis is completely static; we have no sense of her having any reaction to Arlo. We really have no sense of her as a sentient being at all; she’s just a cardboard cutout for all the response she shows. Would it really be that hard to give her a little life?

“Why it’s the Uneeda Biscuit made the trouble

Uneeda, Uneeda put the crackers in a package, in a package

I have a PhD, I have had a commercial radio license from the FCC, I worked at companies in Silicon Valley, I started designing my own computers at age 8, and I still marvel at all the technology we have these days.

But I do get upset at how many people take it for granted, And I very much dislike Apple’s “if you need to think to use something, that is a design flaw” preaching, that has led us to this. You should not need to have advanced education, but you should surely think before using a smart phone, or a computer, or a car!
