Brother once threw one hard down from a two storey building roof, it was never seen again. Throw one down a windowless stairwell, it will eventually get to the bottom.

I just bought my granddaughters each a Super Ball. Wasn’t sure they still existed (I used to love mine). Bought on Amazon. But unless my memory is faulty, those balls seemed a little smaller than the one I had. I also had minis that I used to play jacks with. But my “regular” ball seemed somewhat larger (in my memory), than the ones I purchased for my granddaughters.

Red and Rover should shelter in case that ball hits one of them on re-entry.

As long as it’s not a DC-10, it should be fine.

When I was a kid we loved to get split golf balls and peel them and get the hard rubber balls inside of them to play jacks with. They were great. Not sure they still have them in the golf balls anymore.

Not a jet plane, but when I was a kid I had a Super Ball that bounced out into the street – and then a car hit it and sent it flying! I had to run a whole long city block alongside it on the sidewalk before it finally came to a stop and I was able to retrieve it!

My brother hit our first super ball with a baseball bat. Never did find that thing.

They were slightly larger then (read the history) and bouncier than the present ones. Here is a great story I just read. Lamar Hunt, the person who founded the AFL in the 60’s, was at home watching his kids play with super balls. An idea came to him. The AFL was, by that time, developed enough to where they were talking about a championship game against the NFL. He called Pete Rozelle (the NFL Commissioner) and jokingly suggested that they call the game The Super Bowl. Instead of laughing, Rozelle accepted the idea. That story was on the Wikipedia history of the super ball.

The balls now are smaller, 1.75" compared to 1.93". They do now have quite the same bounce as the originals due to the slightly smaller size. Here is a story about them that I just read: Lamar Hunt, founder of the American Football League and owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, watched his children playing with a Super Ball and then coined the term Super Bowl. He wrote a letter to NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle dated July 25, 1966: “I have kiddingly called it the ‘Super Bowl,’ which obviously can be improved upon.” The league’s franchise owners had decided on the name AFL–NFL World Championship Game, but the media immediately picked up on Hunt’s Super Bowl name, which became official beginning with the third annual game in 1969.

The centers of golf balls used to have that small super ball inside. I wonder if they still do.

When we were remodeling, we found that someone long ago had put a superball inside the wall, presumably so that during some future earthquake the future owners would go nuts trying to figure out where that sound was coming from and what it was about.

PLease Please I beg any of you reading this.. DO NOT BUY one of those balls if you have a dog or live near one. They are a terrible choking hazard and can kill a dog in seconds. They easily get very wet and slippery in a dog’s mouth and slip down their throat and get lodged in their wind pipe and they are almost impossible to get out. You certainly can’t get it out in time to stop the dog from choking. It is a horrible and terrifying way for a dog to die and so completely unnecessary. There are literally hundreds of different balls out there to play with. These ones should be banned. Thank you. ☺☺♥♥♥☺☺

I remember getting a super ball as a kid. We thought it would bounce forever between the foundation on our house and the neighbors house which was pretty close. Unfortunately he had a granite foundation which was not smooth and it angled the ball upward where it took out a window.

Try to bring one down to the bottom of a pool (It’s really hard) and watch the thing blast out of the water like a Polaris missile.
