When I was in elementary school girls had home economics and we boys had “shop.” But other than enabling us to identify basic tools, “shop” didn’t really teach us many things of real value (except perhaps for those who went on to become carpenters). I’ve never had to do any wood-burning, or needed to operate a lathe. But some practice converting electrical switches and outlets, replacing minor toilet parts, and basics of maintaining cooling and heating systems and other things that are actually inevitably encountered in home ownership would have actually been useful.
But it would never beat the name of one particular place in Cave Creek, AZ: “The Horny Toad.” And there was also another just down the street called “The Satisfied Frog” but I believe that one’s no longer in business.
