Whatever happened to lasagna?

Seems like that happens alot, buy a bag of ready made salad and it turns brown and slimey. Cookies on the other hand, don’t do that!

Today we are using emojicons to describe different foods. Salad: :/. Pizza: :mmmmmmmm.

so they’d just waste money on perfectly good lettuce, wait till it rots, JUST SO THEY COULD BUY PIZZA?

Or you could order boneless barbecue wings.

I am the main shopper, and cook. I buy for the meals I plan to make. My wife impulses buys when she accompanies me to the store. “Oh, I might want to eat this before it goes bad.”

And, Dog forbid I should throw out any long expired food, she regards it as an invitation to fill up the empty space with more foods she won’t eat. (Or another bottle of beer she might want to drink someday, or a fifth water bottle – just in case she loses the first four behind all the junk she’s stuffed in.)

Sorry… This has nothing to with the Garfield strip. I was cleaning out the fridge yesterday.

Jon must be thinking of all the salads that never were.

I found this on the internet to keep bagged salad fresh. Put it in a plastic storage bag with a sheet of rolled up paper towel. The paper towel absorbs the moisture and keeps the salad fresh. It works.

I think Jon let that lettuce wilt on purpose.

A good excuse.

Why’d you buy it in the first place, Jon?

Next time, ‘forget’ to put it in the fridge.

Even heads of lettuce will brown and wilt after a week. The least likely heads to wilt and brown are those that can be squeezed at the store. Hard heads need to be eaten at once.

YES!

Just cut up the lettuce into tiny, barely discernible pieces, hide them in the pizza dough while the pizza is being made, then trick Jon and Garfield into thinking that they’re special herbs that were added to give the pizza more flavor.

I wish lettuce would keep longer, too!

Lettuce ? what is that ? Is that part of the 5 food groups? What are they, Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, and Dairy Queen.

I miss being able to afford pizza. Maybe I can splurge at the end of the month.

Why do I feel like one or other of them have “helped” with the wilting process?

The pizza people can hear thought bubbles over the phone?

The lettuce will be sending a friend request to Jon any minute now…

I like Pizza and a side salad.

Sacrificial vegetables: You buy them because they are good for you. But you always find something tastier to eat. Finally, they spoil, and you can throw them out with a clear conscious. Then you buy more, because they are good for you…
