“Drugball”, although I thought that the “great patriots” who swore to NEVER watch/attend it again, had settled on “Kneelingball”. (Thus proving that sports ARE the real “opiate for the masses”.)

“Poundball”. I like it. It’s got dignity, but where does the “pound” part come from?

We have Australian Rules Football, so why not American Rules Football?

I still don’t understand why we need to change it from soccer. Do we need to start calling eggs huevos because other parts of the world do? There’s many different words used around the world for every object that exists, why is “football” so special that we all have to have the same word and definition?

I always thought a good alternate name would be “Runball” or “Ovalball”.

I don’t follow sports, or gang signs. What is that “only the pinky folded across the palm” gesture she’s making in the last panel?

Since it involves passing, why not make it sophisticated and call it passéball?

Perhaps “gridball”, since it’s played on a gridiron?

The detractors simply refer to it as “throw ball.”

The rest of the world can call their game Soccer, so much easier that way for the USA.

Soccer in Australia as well…national team is the “Socceroos”. “Football” there is Australian Rules Football, or “Footy”.
