Any U.S. weapons currently being used by Israel were originally provided for its defense. Nobody seriously expected them to be used this way. Netanyahu is the only one responsible for how his military has been conducting itself in Gaza.
Hamas started this crap, not the USA. If Hamas did what they did to my family what they did in Israel, I would relentlessly hunt them down. Relentless.
Hamas is using the Palestinians as shields to hide behind for this very reason. They know the world and public opinion have sympathy for innocent women and children. It is an insidious act of a terrorist organization. Their plan is working great.
It’s time to push for the two state solution. Require the islamic countries to fund and help police a Palestinian state. If Netanyahu won’t cooperate, cut off their access. I don’t think it leads to peace, but it’s gotta be better than stalemate they’ve been in forever.
My father used to say that if we were all made the same and looked all alike, we’d still have reasons to fight and hate each other. I’m pretty sure he was right.
Religions are corrupted and antiquated and politicized. They Are the main horsemen of our apocalypse. They brainwash the masses on behalf of themselves and the rich 1%, and the 1% funds and protects them, and together they control the government via the politicians they have brainwashed and corrupted. This simple plan has been succeeding since the first witch doctor learned to use fear and misinformation to achieve power. Things were pretty reasonable in the USA til civil rights in the 60’s drove the Southern Democratic racists out of hiding and into the GOP, and since then the 1% have been fomenting the racism to divide voters so the voters couldn’t be in control of the country. Alas….now the situation has gone ballistic with Trumpism, and the 1%‘s Golden Goose is about to be fricasseed into rumble, and the !% will be on the run from a world of hungry and desperate people, they won’t even be able to trust a maid or cook! Stupid.
Missiles cost half of a million dollars each. Mail several lots of half of a million in $20 bills in value paks to a neighborhood and see whose side they like.
Biden has no choice in supporting Israel’s right to exist and supplying arms and aid. It is U.S. Law made by congress in 1948 and since. The last guy that tried to hold back weapons committed by congress in Law was impeached for it.
Biden is openly pressuring Netanyahu who is being defiant. The Israeli people are going to have to decide if they want to keep their ally on good standing, or keep a leader who has lied to them, made them unsafe, and broken agreements that threaten their very being.
What the US might have learned in Vietnam, and which the Israelis might have learned from our experiences there, is that guerrilla warriors by night look a whole lot like innocent civilians by day. But if you start treating all innocent civilians as if they are guerrilla warriors, pretty soon you’re dealing with a whole lot of justifiably resentful, extremely angry civilians. And then you really have made enemies.
A much better model is the way the US treated defeated enemies Germany, Japan, and Italy after WW2 — by rebuilding them and helping them establish strong, democratic, self-governing institutions. They are now among our strongest allies.
Humanity has yet to figure out how to conduct a war without waging war. It always starts with brutality followed by tally ho, wave the flag and lets get even more brutal and it never ends before Christmas. A lot of innocent people die for no dam reason and there is always people like us on the sidelines offering advice that goes ignored.
It’s not Biden’s fault and it’s not really under his control. Yup, we’ve given Israel military aid. We’ve done it forever. They have a huge lobby and own a big piece of a lot of legislators. Oh, the Israeli government is controlled by a bunch of single minded fanatics. Oh, Hamas too. It’s a blood feud.
I’m trying to figure out what Hamas was thinking when they launched the attack Oct 7. What sort of reaction were they expecting from Israel? Did they think they’d just run amok for a day and that would be it?
And somehow people are blaming Biden for the heinous actions of Hamas and Netanyahoo. Trump would negotiate the war away, even though he did not write the book.

Let’s be real. The only reason Israel is continuing the war is that that was part of the part of the first Israel.
They actually think the mythology of the 1st Israel was real also.
That is part of the biblical account that is totally made up.
