The report and recommendations are now part of the permanent Congressional Record. History will not be kind to those that support(ed) that orange pathetic excuse for a human being. While that doesn’t help things now, you know it’s coming.

If all it does is aggravate Trump and keep him in litigation purgatory for years to come and needing to come up with schemes to fleece his minions in order to pay his lawyers, well, that’ll be just fine.

And while all that is going on, may the thought of “I could be playing golf and living high off my campaign contribution funds right now if I had behaved like good sports the world over and graciously conceded” rattle around in his empty head.

Varvel…yes, I know this is just a microscopically inconsequential cartoon in the Grand Scheme of Really Important Things, but don’t you think that fomenting an insurrection, promoting a riot, refusing to try to stop it, lying about it all and denying a legitimate election….BY A FORMER PRESIDENT WHO TOOK AN OATH TO PRESERVE AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION…and then found, by duly elected members of Congress, a MOUNTAIN of evidence of his crimes…is MORE than a Nothing Burger? Your toon is less than a Nothing Toon. How about some integrity in your work for a change??

Usually I prefer to think about and talk about policy rather than about personality. But I make an exception in this case. I see a very compelling case assembled by the Select Committee. I see that there are other possible potential charges against Trump that are even easier to prove. What I don’t see is any substantial defence.

If they were there to actually attempt to overthrow the government, then they were pretty unorganized, and didn’t have clue on how to accomplish that, nor follow through. The “nothing burger” is just another demonstration that got way out of hand. However, Trump needs to own it though and pay for that.

A highly partisan Congressional Committee (yes, two trump-hating RINOs were also there) has zero legal authority and just made the DOJ’s job harder. Now, if the DOJ indicts it will look like they are doing the bidding of the democrats in Congress. There is no way in heck that the DOJ would need or wait for yet another Congressional Clown Show to refer anything to them in order to act. It’s been 2 years and if the DOJ had a case they would have already moved. I’m not saying they won’t do something now. It’s entirely possible that they will throw down an indictment to help the biden administration and the dems keep trump off the ballot. Garland is as bad as John Mitchell (Nixon’s AG). And it might work, at that. But either way, trump isn’t going to be convicted of anything that puts him in prison.

Trump is facing ‘hell’ as ‘17-point play-by-play’ of his crimes lands in the public’s lap: professor

On Wednesday, writing for Newsweek, Roosevelt University political science professor David Faris broke down the problems awaiting former President Donald Trump as the House Select Committee on January 6 is preparing to release its final report. That report, Faris argued, is going to be a legal and political nightmare for Trump on a new level he hasn’t faced before.

Ronna McDaniel may have sealed Trump’s fate with J6 committee by showing ‘overt’ criminal behavior

Embattled Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel may have played one of the larger roles in getting Donald Trump charged with crimes for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

McDaniel has been an outspoken Trump defender despite his electoral drag on GOP candidates, which now threatens her leadership after a lackluster midterm showing, but the House select committee highlighted her testimony as key in establishing proof the ex-president conspired to make a false statement in the fake elector plot, reported MSNBC’s Ja’han Jones.

Unwoke republiguns are always doing unintentional irony.

Trump criminal referrals will be ‘impossible to ignore’ by Jack Smith: legal expert

In a column for the Bulwark, attorney and former Department of Homeland Security official Paul Rosenzweig explained that, while the criminal referrals from the House select committee that investigated the Jan. 6 riot carry no legal weight, it would be hard for special counsel Jack Smith to lightly regard them and not follow up with indictments. On Monday, the committee held its last public hearing and followed that by asking the Department of Justice to investigate and indict Donald Trump and several close aides and advisers over their connection to not only the insurrection but also efforts to subvert the election and then cover up their efforts.

J6 summary paints a portrait of the former president spewing lies to avoid ouster

According to a report from the HuffPost, the preliminary executive summary from the House select committee that investigated the Jan 6 insurrection paints a timeline of Donald Trump moving from lie to lie in an effort to remain in the Oval Office. The summary, which preceded the release of the full report that is reportedly over 1,000 pages touched on the former president planting the seeds of claiming a stolen election long before the ballots were counted then moving from target to target looking for an accusation that might stick.

‘Hillary Clinton was right all along’ about Donald Trump: MSNBC’s Mika

Donald Trump has been fighting the release of his tax returns since he first positioned himself as a presidential candidate, and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said their long-awaited disclosure proves he was always lying about them. Trump claimed the returns couldn’t be released during his 2016 campaign and throughout his presidency because they were under audit, but the House Ways and Means Committee concluded the IRS failed to audit his taxes, as required under a mandatory presidential program, for the first two years of his term and did not complete any of them.

    Trump ran a criminal admin.

IRS never audited Trump during first two years in White House despite policy of ‘mandatory’ audits for presidents

After the House Ways and Means Committee voted to release redacted information about former President Donald Trump’s tax returns, the committee’s Democrats revealed that the Internal Revenue Service never bothered auditing Trump for the first two years of his presidency. As the New York Times reports, “House Democrats revealed that the materials they obtained showed that the IRS had failed to audit Mr. Trump’s tax filings during his first two years in office, despite having a program that makes audits of sitting presidents mandatory.”

Trump attacked his political enemies with IRS audits.

Donald Trump Demands Reinstatement, Suggests Overthrowing Government

Trump is a total psychotic and needs to be treated as such.

    Yesterday he said…

Starting from a quote by conservative pundit Jesse Watters saying that “the FBI and Twitter COLLUDED to elect Joe Biden,” Trump reiterates that “the 2020 Presidential Election was RIGGED & STOLEN,” he wrote.

“It all began a long time ago, they SPIED on my campaign, and tried to “RIGG” the 2016 Election, but failed. Remember, our government is doing this, not a person or party," Trump wrote.

“What should be done about such a terrible thing, or should we let someone who was elected by cheating and fraud stay in office and continue to destroy our Country?”

The head of the lying traitor republican party is totally out of touch with reality.

Gary, A couple of days ago USA TODAY showed a time line for 187 minutes on Jan 6 when nothing was heard from that fat white guy who played and plays a lot of golf. We lived through those minutes, watching on TVs. To see it on a timeline is chilling. To learn what he was and wasn’t doing is horrible and criminal. There’s your “NOTHING BURGER”, sir.
