The only pork that I am thinking about is that which Joe Manchin probably snuck into the deal he struck up with Schumer over the weekend and it will get heavier when they tack on Sinema’s 30 pieces of silver or whatever her price is for doing something humane and voting this important legislation through which will probably add something that Manchin will not agree to and we end up back the the drawing board. Such is life when dealing with a couple of conservative Dinos who know they have the Senate leader by the cojones.
Of course, if the same legislation had been prepared and offered by one of Trump’s toadies, the taxpayer would be weighed down by those “Obstructionist Libtards.”
I wonder what Ms Benson thinks about Corporate Welfare such as oil companies getting millions and millions of TAXPAYER dollars!! Or tax breaks for Billionaires as they can hardly get by on what they make.
Add a windfall profits tax that would come from the pigs that ride of the backs of taxpayers. Start with fossil fuel companies that are making record profits and are the biggest factor in inflation because everyone needs fuel. Stop subsidies to fossil fuels, some have been in place for over a century. While we’re at it, stop subsidies for big agriculture since it goes to harmful factory farms rather than small farmers. Pharma prices need to be controlled as well – the U.S. taxpayers pay for a lot of their research, then those same taxpayers pay more for prescriptions than in other countries.
$84.4 trillion will be transferred from one generation to the next in the next 10 years or something like that. Most of that is money middle-class folks and small business owners who have worked for that money, paid multiple layers of taxes on it and then give a huge slice of it when they transfer it to the next generation. I wonder if the government is adjusting the tax laws to get as much of that as possible? /s
The Inflation Growth Act is bad for housing. It will add costs while putting downward pressure on production. Plus the new domestic minimum tax will increase costs on building material manufacturers and likely further exacerbate supply chain disruptions. All of this adds to inflationary pressures on home prices and construction costs.
With all the economic chaos the Dems have given us in the last 2 years, and they insist we’re not in a recession, and now they’re going to raise taxes on us all…
Does anyone truly think these people have our best interests at heart?
It is nice to see Joe [coal] Manchin is back in good graces with Democrats. He was the Mike Pence of the Left for a while, just another toothless hillbilly from Mayberry.
Republicans hate this bill because it will tax huge corporations, while making healthcare & prescription drugs more affordable to regular Americans. Why does Lisa love corporations so much?
Curing inflation by throwing trillions more $$$ at it. STUPID Socialist Democrats in D.C., the majority of whom have never held an actual job in the business world.

Lisa, you make it look like EVERYTHING is the burden of the individusl taxpayer, and that’s not true. And you KNOW it.
The bill is written to be paid for with corporate tax. And they’re doing quite well. This is how it should be.

Lisa forgot to properly label the pig as the millionaires and billionaires who have had tax cuts under republikkklan administrations.

Every tax on business gets passed down to the consumer – mostly the poor and middle classes.

Sure, Lisa. All bills except tax cuts to the rich are wasteful and inflationary.
