When the guy in the toon took time off it was what, 30 years ago? Hey Lester, it’s 2021. You do realize that if Buttigieg was straight he could still take the time. There is nothing about “sexual orientation” requirements on the Federal HR page on “Paid Parental Leave”. Altho this isn’t Lester’s point, it could be understood as a dig against straight men who consider it unmanly sometimes to be looking after the household for more than a day or two. One thing which is interesting is that when a gay parent decides to remain at home – you don’t hear him complaining and saying he should be paid for doing so… unlike a lot of the feminists. So in fact gay parents are a pretty good deal!

Comparing cabinets, there’s no contest….Bidens cabinet is full of experienced, well informed, intelligent capable human beings…unlike the previous skeleton cabinet with a bunch of campaign contributors, and knew anything of the dept they were assigned to.

Actually, this cartoon is just part of the right wing panic over current gender-related issues. I find the right wing panic incredibly stupid. But I also find the left wing fawning as repulsive. Gender fluidity exists on a spectrum, but that’s no reason to lionize those on the rat tails of the distribution. This is why I wasn’t upset with Dave Chappell’s recent Netflix special. There’s nothing to celebrate with respect to people who express different forms of sexuality. There’s nothing to castigate either. Both sides of this are acting like idiots.

In Lester’s case, he chose Pete Buttigieg to pick on because he took paternity leave while being gay. That’s Mike’s problem. He is anti homosexuality. But Lester does make a good point about the knee-jerk celebration of homosexuality. I mean, who cares, really? Trans folks, for example, are even further out on the spectrum. But so what? I mean who really is affected by this behavior? I actually feel badly for them and their belief they are trapped in the wrong body. It’s sad, really. And gender reassignment doesn’t always bring happiness, either. Just let them live their lives, for goodness sakes.

Both sides in this are being really silly.

Mr. Lester, that’s just mean. It’s much, much, much more difficult for him to give birth than it is for a woman. I bet the labor was a real ballbuster. He needs time to recover.

Two months for maternity leave, what did Pete do? What did his partner do? Nothing other then show up, sign the paperwork claiming the child and drive the kid home. Real tough work bringing the kid into the world. I took 2 day off for my first child and 2 day for my next two! This is bulls##t. Must have been tough being a gay sperm donor! 2 months off must be rough, Petey boy. What a wuss!
