Norman and his revisionist republican buddies apparently believe the vast majority of Americans are brain dead. Hopefully they are wrong.

“Peddling that bulls*** is an assault on every officer that fought to defend the Capitol. It’s disgraceful.”— Michael Fanone, Capitol Police officer who was beaten almost to death, on Rep. Andrew Clyde’s “There was no insurrection.”

Is this one of the guys saying that the attack on the Capital building wasn’t anything more than “hugs and kisses” during a peaceful group tour…is this one of the QOP trying to re-frame a deadly riot as nothing more than a few exuberant MAGAs having a love-in…is this one of the dRumpth’s cult who was photographed trying to pile furniture against an occupied chamber door in order to protect himself from the destruction of a so-called peaceful against the legally mandated confirmation of a legally elected new administration???

The dRumpth never wanted to be president…he wanted to be Supreme Leader, His Majesty, the King of America.

The Reverend is not alone in seeing “no evidence” that the January sixth Insurrectionists were Trump Supporters. Of course, ANYONE who witnessed the attack on the Capitol and could read knew that the attackers supported Trump, but there were any number of illiterate Congressional members who also couldn’t read the banners and hats!

Now, I can understand how republican congressional members might be illiterate, but I was under the impression that “men of the cloth” had to receive ordination from a seminary which meant some kind of education, which meant being able to read!

I am sure he is saying (or maybe even believes) the “War of Northern Aggression” was about “States Rights” and had nothing to do with slavery.

There are probably a lot of people who’d like to be able say that he also was never subjected to verbal & possibly even some physical abuse, and just plain scared out of his wits by a yuuuge crowd of voters too. Fine Americans, many of the finest, smartest Americans would no doubt agree that it could never happen to him. They’d of course only like to show how much support they’re willing to give him, by supporting infrastructure too – like seeing him riden on a rail, er… the rails around town and hosting a reception involving a warm representation by part of the petroleum and poultry industries. I mean, he would no doubt be welcome to being bathed the warmth of their admiration and being sort of lifted upon wing as it were. Anybody got a rail and some tar & feathers? Praise be!

Even if they are to the right of Atilla the Hun, there must be Republicans who are shamed or embarrassed by such so-called leaders. Or have all the rational Republicans left the party leaving only the looney right, religious fanatics, and conspiracy freaks?

Photo emerges of Republican barricading chamber doors during US Capitol attack after he compared rioters to ‘tourists’

A photo has emerged of Andrew Clyde, the Republican congressman who claimed “there was no insurrection” and compared US Capitol rioters to “tourists”, barricading the House chamber during the attack.

“The Rep. Clyde news reminded me of this,” Roll Call photographer Tom Williams tweeted this week, and included a picture of the Georgia congressman in a group of eight men pushing a piece of furniture against doors to the chamber.

Speaking on Wednesday to the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Clyde downplayed the actions of the pro-Trump mob who stormed the Capitol on 6 January as “a normal tourist visit”. The violent attack left five dead including one police officer.

The republican party has surrendered whatever credibility they ever had for a headlong rush to capture their decades-long goal of destroying American democracy.

They can see their goal of controlling the courts, destroying “Roe v Wade” and the possibility of locking the various state legislatures into a republican-controlled majority for at least a decade so they are casting aside whatever “disguises” they might have worn to fool their various electorates and stand exposed as the nakedly partisan political extremists they are now and always have been!

Now that it’s too late to do anything about their perfidy, we are finally allowed to see them as they really are!

It is not pretty, but at least it is verging on honesty, now.

All we have to do to be Republican is suspend reality and refuse to believe our eyes and ears.
