Trump is not on trail. The D’s are smart enough to know that no amount of truth is going to convince the majority of GOP senators to deviate from their own selfish interests.

The GOP Senate is on trail.

The showcase is not for those who will vote on Trump’s guilt or innocent, it is for the American voter.

The GOP will choose Trump over Constitution thereby sealing the subservience of the Republican Party to Trump as long as Trump shall live.

They have chosen to pay tribute to Trump and I believe that the tribute will take literal form. If a GOP candidate does not make a generous contribution to Trump’s PAC, then Trump will use that PAC to set up a challenger in the primary.

Should a primary contender appear spontaneously, then Trump’s endorsement goes to the highest bidder.

    KA-CHING and MAGA!

Question is not what Republicans will use as their excuses for not voting the Constitutional issues. It is what the average citizen believes. There will ever be a divide between the conspiracists, who originate misinformation, outright lies, and fantastical interpretations of events, and the majority of average voters. The upheaval will last into the next decade, and with the news media in its current state of bias and counter-bias, one can no longer depend on finding reliable sources of information and factual reporting. One despairs of the future and the fate of the nation.

Your Honor, we find da defendant, our mob boss, not guilty on accouta we’d get whacked if we didn’t.

If Trump can summon a mob to storm the Capitol and attempt to lynch Mike Pence and kill members of congress, then he can call his goons in to murder anyone who does not vote to acquit him.

Who knew Cher was singing about the US Senate Republicans when she sang: “Gypsies, tramps, and thieves / We’d hear it from the people of the town / They’d call us gypsies, tramps, and thieves /But every night all the men would come around / And lay their money down.”

Thanks and apologies to songwriter Bob Stone (1971).

The Republican Party has sold what is left of their souls for a promised 30 pieces of gold. Too bad that they forgot that Hair Furor NEVER pays his bills or follows through on his promises.

What is going on now with the impeachment of trump is the basically the same thing that went on in the investigation of the assassination of President John Kennedy. There was a book that came out in the late 60’s called Plausible Denial. Later in the early 70’s a movie called Executive Decision. This book tore apart the Warren Commission Report that failed explain the reason for the smoke from the grassy knoll. It entered in the single bullet theory put forward by Gerald Ford, which was never proven and this is still a theory. They took Kennedy’s body back to Washington D.C. for the autopsy, when it had they had no jurisdiction. Lee Harvey Oswald was never convicted of the crime because was conveniently killed by a man who had MOB ties. There was a lot more in the book. People who questioned the Warren Report were labeled as crazies by the government and the media. Yet a poll listed 75% of the people believed there was a conspiracy. In 1975 it came to light that there was an audio recording another shot in the same time frame. It was analyzed an found out that was fourth shot. Congress listed that the assassination was a conspiracy. Which basically defunct the whole Warren Commission Report. This is what the republicans like Lindsey Graham, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Devin Nunes, Jim Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, Josh Hawley and many others. And also Fox News. Them it’s Plausible Denial Part 2. If this is deleted , I will keep reposting it.

Republicans have a golden opportunity to reclaim (and start rebuilding) their party. By choosing conviction and supporting human decency, they could rid themselves of this godless heathen and his rabble base. They don’t need the trump base, there are plenty of “normal” republicans who would return to the fold. As faulty and inequitable as this system of government is, it has the capacity to at least function and (albeit it slowly) move society forward in a progressive manner through cooperation and compromise. Urge your republican (and democratic) senators to find the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing and put country before partisan politics and their personal fortunes and vote for conviction.

Republicans don’t give a crap about reality. That’s why they spread covid and support a would be lying seditious dictator, it means power for them.

Republicans want total power so they can lie, cheat and steal with impunity.

Republican Defense: Fake News, Witch Hunt, Unconstitutional, First Amendment and if you don’t acquit, kiss your reelection chances good bye.

I doubt that they will state that Trump is still the president and that the election was rigged, and Trump really won in a landslide and that his reelection was stolen.
