Puck is downright GIDDY with joy! The prospect of helping the woman prepare for a date is too great an opportunity to miss. Then there’s Natasha putting finishing touches on her own makeup.

I think Natasha is likely to be more helpful than Lupin in the beautification process. More attention to details. you know.

From Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s Cinderella: Impossible

    Impossible

    For the feline companions

    To style their human being!

    …….

    Impossible

    For a cat of adventure

To help plan an lovely evening!

    …….

    And one white mouse

    Knows nothing about fine jewelry!

Such goings on are nothing more than

    Tomfollery!

    It’s impossible!

    …….

But the world is full of humans and cats

Who aren’t content to leave it that

And won’t believe what common sense may say,

And because these cats and friends, you know

Are not content with the status quo

    Impossible…!

    Things are happening every day!

I love Cinderella. One of my favorite scenes is the one Georgia depicted in panel two. The little critters singing “We can do it” in their cute little voices.

Puck, I’ve seen Disney’s Cinderella. There is only one cat, and he doesn’t help. He tries to eat the mice. (Which is what a cat should do.)

Georgia, with many cats over the years, you must have good ‘claw snag’ stories. We’d love to see them here. My own ‘snag’ story: We have Boer goats. Long ago, one doe was a good jumper and left the pasture now and then. One of her grown kids followed her over the fence, and in jumping back in, he didn’t quite make it and got a hoof caught in the fence. He was hanging upside down. I happened to see this shortly after it happened, hubby was at work, I am disabled, and it took 15 minutes to track down a neighbor to go with wire cutters to let him loose off the fence. No harm done, he was fine. He never jumped out again.

OT: FlynnHe’s back from the vet and is feeling better. Doesn’t like the kidney diet, but will eat it and make faces. And we’ve had our first subcutaneous rehydration session which went well although I have enough tygon tubing to tie up a boat to a dock. He didn’t seem to mind the needle stick as much as he minded getting a little wet when I failed to shut it off quickly enough at the end. I think this is a “we can do this!” too.

Elvis looks just like our black kit on one of his forays into my dresser. For reasons of his own, he enjoys tossing socks to the floor. At least he doesn’t continue to batting them under the dresser…the dryer does a good enough job of hiding socks, it doesn’t need any help.

Huh. My kitties never cared for nail polish. I assume it was the smell that put them off. I confess I sometimes amused myself by “letting” my first gato, Andy, of blessed memory, sniff a cotton ball loaded with nail polish remover…and then get a kick out of the actual furrowed brow and wrinkled nose she sported. Kind of a “ugh, Mom, you actually put that *&%$ on your hands?!” reaction.

Cats are very intuitive to moods of their people. When Mom passed and then Dad passed last week, our cats came up to me when I was in my chair and gave me many purrs and repeated ankle reinforcement. Normally, they aren’t that gregarious.

Pucky and Lupin know the Woman is got something special planned and they will use all their cat-abilities to make sure it is perfect. The only problem is their exuberance can quickly turn into a Painted Pucky and a Glitter disco Lupin.

Should it be point out to them that the animal companions of Cinderella were foiled by the stepmother. Yeah, sure ithe step-sisters ruined the gown they made, but who was it that got them started?

Ultimately it was the fairy godmother that helped the most. With a little bibbity bobbity boo. Rather than a whole lot of we can do it, we can doo it.

Good, just be careful. I did this for a while for my dog in a cat suit*, Fergal. He flinched when I was getting ready to stick him and nailed my thumb with the 18 ga needle. We were able to hold him out for two years before it progressed to where he was uncomfortable

My sweetest boy, one of the things that helped is he loved his harness and leash, rides in the car (he’d go from window to window like a dog). And he adored the lady vet! He also like walks.
