There’s a city on the other side. It awaits people who build bridges, but is inaccessible to those who build walls.

How can they NOT rename the bridge after John Lewis? It’s the most obviously appropriate thing to do. Get it done!

The history of the Civil Rights Movement that John Lewis helped to guide and the passion for freedom and equality that Mr, Lewis helped to infuse into that movement will be forever remembered. He worked so hard and accomplished so much for all people, not just people of color. He was a good man deserving the gratitude of our nation.

    R.I.P. JOHN LEWIS 2020….

I cringe at cartoons that show the departed one being welcomed at The Pearly Gates by St. Peter. This cartoon is unique, and most fitting.

“Like a bridge over troubled waters . . . " Many years ago white police tried to ‘lay John down’ but all his brought ‘good trouble’ knowing that someday all people would cross that bridge hand in hand in celebration of his undying ’ good trouble’. It wasn’t a bridge too far . . . .

Thank you John Lewis and Lalo . .

John Lewis will be remembered as an African American hero in the same league as MLK and Malcolm X. I can’t think of a better tribute than renaming Edmund Pettis Bridge (the site of “Bloody Sunday”) John Lewis Bridge. Let’s honor him further by defeating Trump and sending him back to Mar a Lago!
