Stefani the Scatterbrain.

Almost, but still in this room. Stefani is like fingernails on a blackboard.

Tiffany’s “almost” shows she’s aware. Now, if she can carry it outside her own bubble, like she was a just a few days ago, all about fixing and guiding her – at that time – unknown roomie.

Stefani can switch from being serious to being silly in a blink! And not waver! A future NFL Business Agent! Tiffany needs to step away unless she get an endorsement for a line of nail polish!

Now I understand why Kip was carrying her luggage on both sides of his head. It was protection against Stefani’s wrestling maneuver side hugs. Kip thinks, “I can’t afford another head injury and these suitcases help.”

Okay cut to the chase. I wanna know what kind of grades this “kewpie doll” gets in college.

Because if it’s straight “A’s,” Tiffany should arch a suspicious eyebrow like Spock used to do, and make it her business to find out “how?”

And I can’t wait to find out what Stefie Bird’s “major” is. :)

First new character we’ve seen since Bets. As Tiffany’s roommate, we can expect to see her regularly. I hope it doesn’t turn out to be a daily dose of obnoxiousness. A little goes a long way.

If Stefani is a southern belle, Stefani would be 6 steps ahead and 2 quick jabs. I wouldn’t underestimated her.

The third frame shows that Southerners can be charming even when they aren’t…

And even if not, she’s already offering to introduce Tiff to the cheer squad, which Tiff might enjoy…whether as a participant or as endorsers/customers for Tiff as Nails.

Hmmm? Both Tara and Bets were introduced to the strip as pretty, rather silly young women. Both turned out to be sharp as nails. Is there a theme here?

Sure hope that Tiffany does not try to go back down the cheerleading road. She needs money, which is more important.

Stef being an air head, having a Southern drawl and being a cheerleader are all orthogonal to each other. She could be an air head and be a physics major, she could be an air head and have a fencing scholarship. I dated a cheerleader ( a man) who was an opera major. His bestie was also a cheerleader and his major was pharmacology. The dippiest person I ever met was a business major. Didnt have a sport, liked to sing in glee club.

He doesn’t look quite as lovey-dovey as she does.

Tiffany, you’re vocabulary word for the day is ‘comeuppance’.

Tiff is showing a great deal of restraint so far. She looks positively mature by comparison. But the jury is still out on their relationship.

Kip loves Stefani and Tiffany find her annoying. In that “almost” there is the whole difference between Tiffany and Stefani. Will Tiffany become aware of how much she was like her? Will this be the beginning of a deep change of mind and soul? I hope so.

Y’all are making a big mistake assuming Stefani is dumb. She is a lot of things but I’m betting stupid really isn’t one of them. Never underestimate a Southern Belle. They come across all sweetness and light but underneath they are usually razor sharp and cunning. I’ve also known quite a few cheerleaders who were pre med or chemistry or physics majors so this flighty persona means nothing in terms of brains. Stefani is certainly unlikable but don’t assume she’s not smart.

I am still reserving judgement on her goodness or badness, but I think Stefani is probably a good person, if not a bit domineering. Basically that will be the biggest issue Tiffany will have to deal with really, but I think the situation where she has too is a good one.

Stefani is showing a bit more kindness today than in the previous two days, IMO. She is sort of “encouraging” to Tiffany to consider cheering at MU… and this could have easily gone the other direction where Stefani could have had a more trite, negative comment about Tiffany not being “appropriate” for cheering at MU for some reason.

Stefani does appear to have a gnat-like focus, however…. but we will have to see if that is just situational (casual times perhaps) and if she really has deep focus when needed.

Tiff, why don’t you tell those two to show some class?

Stef is becoming less likable each day. I wonder how soon Kip will dump her. He could probably tolerate her when she lived in another dorm. But now that Kip will see her a lot more he will get tired of her annoying personality much quicker.

I wonder how long Kip and Stefani have been dating? I’d say less than 6 months. She is very annoying.

As usual this arc will end before you get any conclusion as to Stefani and Tiff

I would love that the twist is Stefi is either a business major too or maybe wanting to become an architect. That long black thing on Kip’s left looks like a portfolio for drawing.

The last guy I saw balancing suitcases like that was Curly of The Three Stooges.And you can guess how that ended up.Steff’s major is “cornbread”.

Both these girls are dumb like foxes. An alliance could be a powerful thing. And, maybe Stefani won’t need to try so hard to keep Kippy’s attention.

I don’t usually make two original comments unless I see something on further viewing and this is one of those times. I took a more careful view of the last panel, and notice, perhaps, a touch of ironic doubt if I can put it that way, in the face and response of Tiffany to Stefani’s telling Kip, in her feckless way, that he is such a goof, and asking Tiffany if she ever saw anyone so goofy. Tiffany’s response is kind of sardonic, “almost.” That setup could be seen as Tiff’s comment that between the two, Kip and Stef, Stef is actually goofier. If so that is a good sign people.

With all the belongs that Kip is hauling in for his ‘girl friend’, she could be named ‘STUFF-ani’…

Buffy Summers was luckier. Her nerve-grating, pain-in-the-rear dormmate turned out to be a demon from another dimension who’s father showed up to drag her home after two episodes.

Oh my gosh…really? This gal is really over the top. Not a fan. That being said…I wonder what she’s like when Kip isn’t around.

Stefani likes it when big handsome men carry her luggage. And she is hands on in showing her gratitude.

Tiffany’s struggles both emotional and financial have caused her to mature. Before all of these hurdles (her dad, Ann, $ problems, finding a focus in college etc…) she was more like Stefani. Now she looks at Stefani and sees an airhead, and maybe a shadow of her former self that she doesn’t want to return to.

Looks like Tiffany has got her wits about her again after the initial shock of Stefani Bird! Now, the duel should be more equal in character and more interesting. You silly goof!

Summary, Tiff subconsciously recognizes a “soul sister” in Stefi-Bird. Then Bernice makes it overt that Tiff is looking into a way-back mirror.

1212 interprets Tiff’s gaze in panel 2 as a “warm feeling” for Stefi-Bird. Given the final panels, the “gaze” may be a wistful look by Tiff on her “days gone by.” A gleeful cheerleader dashing off to meet her adoring, cute quarterback boyfriend.

The question now becomes, Given Bern’s “veridicality” (thanks Rhetorical) will this alter Tiff’s feelings toward Stefi-Bird? Will she turn snarky and competitive toward her? Only Greg knows… and TeaFanny.

I find it interesting to see the continuation of Bernice’s interaction with Tiffany here at Mooney. I was concerned that Tiff’s move may have indicated a break with Bern’s constellation of dorm folks for “Hall A” denizens. Especially after Tiff’s comment a couple weeks ago that she and Bern “barely see each other.”

Damn, Kip is strong! Well, he has to be being a QB, lol!
