   the flip side is that a lot of students enter college with a plan but with blinders, i.e. they will consider no other; for example, wanting to go to medical school; the problem there is that is many/most do not have the ability or study discipline to succeed; a few will but most will not. I tell students that undergraduate college is a place to explore and that they need to consider multiple options.

   In fact, Luann took Tiff’s positive analogy of her situation and ran with it. Bets and Tiff may have some good ideas that just need some re-working; maybe they need to re-brand their branding scheme.

   Luann is more self aware than she’s given credit for; I’m glad she’s not allowing these two to “use” her. Tiff and Bets are discovering that not everyone will fit themself into their neat little marketing scheme. I think this is actually a great step forward for Luann.

   Not really as in yes you are right that I have no idea or not really as in ‘no’. Tiff is trying to create Luann’s answers for her to fit their marketing model, instead of just letting Luann do the talking.

   It’s nice to see that Luann is passionate about activities and things other than guys. It shows she has matured from the boy crazy adolescent she was in high school; I think she’s doing a great job. Clearly Tiff and Bets are not prepared to deal with real human beings; I’d like to see them answer questions as well as Luann.

   I think you’ve nailed it; Luann wasn’t ‘broken’ when Bets and Tiff walked in the door but they wanted her to be so they could create the new improved (re-branded) Luann and show a video of the process; but it’s not working. Sure, they said something that made her feel empowered but she wasn’t down and depressed prior to that.

   Luann was not frustrated and unhappy when these two walked in the door. Tiff and Bets gave her some words and a way of thinking that helped her to feel empowered but she wasn’t in some miserable state before hand. Their before and after concept and the idea that someone can be instantaneously re-branded is flawed.

    I disagree. Luann wasn’t feeling down when Bets and Tiff walked in the door so why is she supposed to pretend to be so now just because they want a video of her feeling down? And if Bets (or Tiff) made remark that made Luann feel empowered then that’s what they will capture on the video. The notion of before and after w/ respect to goals and outlook on life is something that occurs over a long period. These two can’t expect to show an instantaneously re-branded person just because they want to make a marketing video right now. This the flaw in their plan.
