Now that I’m done with school, I kind of miss it. It wasn’t all fun and games but you got used to the routine, and graduation was a very odd mix of emotions.
School started here today Thursday 8-22. Question is why not start on a Monday?Another Question, Will Baldo ever be old enough to get a Drivers License?
My husband hated school from kindergarten on. As a child he would cry and scream to not go to school when he was little. He eventually ended up with a master’s degree and part of a doctorate.
But oddest thing was that he ended up as executive director of a children’s mental health agency which also a school for them. They functioned on a modified school year – a week off after school ended in June and then the children came to a summer session until a week before school would start locally. Employees had 4 weeks vacation as they wanted it. The time both of us could take off from work easily was August – so he was back to starting “school” – as the boss – again. Every year it was it as if he was going back to school as a student – he would get soooo upset.

it won’t be school here in Clark County, Washington until next week (Tuesday as I’m told)

Kids here in northernmost Maine start today. Grades 7-12 get two weeks off in mid-September to help with the potato harvest.

When I went to school we didn’t need backpacks to carry our junk around because we didn’t need to carry stuff.
