I had a student a few years ago (he was a 9th grader then) who would sit there in class with his finger up his nose. I tried to be subtle about it, took him aside, asked him to stop. Didn’t help. It finally got to the point where, in the middle of the lesson, I would have to say out loud in front of everyone: get your finger out of your nose! The other students thought it was GROSS.
