Anyone who ever read John Wayne’s famous (or infamous) May 1971 Playboy interview had to know John Wayne was racist and anti-semitic. Or anyone who ever watched his movies and saw how he portrayed the genocidal European invaders as heroes and the Original Americans who were genocidally massacred because they had the NERVE to want to stay on the land their ancestors had cared for over a span of millennia.

He was as compelling as was Chuck Connors portrayal as a British submarine commander in some TV miniseries. Deplorable non accent.

Wayne’s Genghis Khan movie is notorious. It has to be seen to be believed.

I had to check it on IMDB. Not only John Wayne, but Wm Conrad, Susan Hayward and Agnes Moorehead … all great Asian actors.

The Conqueror probably contributed to Wayne’s death. It was filmed near where the government tested atomic bombs so the cast and crew spent weeks breathing irradiated dust (along with the several packs of cigarettes most of them smoked daily). An exponentially large percentage of them later died of cancer – including John Wayne.
